everything is musical typed. i don't use any loops from garageband for any of my beats. granted i loop the hooks i come up with but i don't use any pre-made melodies or instruments.

THE KEY TO MAKING SONGS IN GARAGEBAND:

everything sounds better when you don't use the generic instruments or pre-made loops. BE CREATIVE.
