Oh, I get it. All you're doing is rendering the inside of the models, rather than the outsides. That also causes some artifacts when the thumb overlaps. It make perfect sense to me, but it looks weird as hell.

That's right. In fact , the most part of what we see is actually what our brain "assumes" we're seeing. A minimal info actually comes from the retina, and the rest comes from our past experience.

we need to eyes in order to look at one object the eyes do an angle and the opposit angle , that helps in viewing 3d ( adds the depth ) with 1 eye you can feel like you are at 100km from the floor even if you are standing on ( i have height fobia ) so when i close one eye and i ignore the other senses like touching and watching the floor i feel sick!! ,with 2 eyes i get 2 different inputs that are calculated by my brain and says me floor at 1.4 m of my face

The normals of the 3D model are reversed, so the inner surface has a texture and the outer surface is completely transparent. Basically, you're seeing through the surface facing you to what you'd normally see from the other side if the normals were faced out.
