Hong Kong people prospered under Britain's governance, and Hong Kong would not be prosperous without the work ethic of the Hong Kong people. A mutual relation that develop Hong Kong into the economic international city it is today.
This is very good quality for the 8mm film, and was shot nicely. I would even say "professionally" when I saw how smooth of the pan & tilt shots with the equipment back then. Good Job!!!
This is good. Most of the old Hong Kong pictures and clips were concentrated in Hong Kong Island. I think I did see some old Kowloon in this clip. Thank you for sharing.
the movie is great... but i think it's around early 70s rather than early 60s.. especially the truck model, dressing style..and Jodan's seaside bldg in 4.10
Oh, how very nostalgic! Being born in 1962 this was the Hong Kong I was too young to see, but this video brings it back to the present. It lets me see with my own eyes what my parents saw. Thanks for posting.
britain saved allof these people from starving to death. In 1962 most of mainland chinese were starving thanks to the communist

@999basille Thats quite a generalization.

HK in 1960s was in fact a very modern city, with many cars and tall buildings

Great video, thanks. Its funny you could say a lot has changed since then, but in a lot of ways HK is still the same as the video.
