I mean, damn! "Brilliant" doesn't even begin to describe how fucking epic this remake is. This needs to be a duet with Robert Plant. I swear, if that happened, my brain would melt inside my skull!!!
They're fearless. AND they nail it - they even throw in the recorder. And that vocal, it's like she's born to it, and still barely tapping her potential.
Remember hearing this live on Simon Mayos' show... was just gobsmacked. Bought her album the same night, had to see if she could actually sing that well on her own stuff. I was not let down... keep it going Lissie... thanks to whoever posted this :)
I heard the day after it was on the Simon Mayo Show AND it still is a superb version and I Really do hate people that do covers. Lissie though seems to add a depth all of her own on Stairway and you've got to hear her version of Bad Romance and Nothing Else Matters they're just as stunningly good nuf said...
Let's all just forget religion and focus on Lissie's talent, because I don't care what she worships, with talent like that I'd be willing to argue with anyone who didn't love her.
oh. my. god. this girl does everything. I absolutely lobe this girl! She's already my favourite artist and now she's done this and Bad Romance by Lady Gaga! I love genius' like Led Zepplin... Amazing!
@funnycarrot yeah i agree.drummist-basser-jesus-guy finished his little recorder bit and then just did his rhythm thang.why couldn't they give him one of those ridiculous double neck guitar things that were so big in the seventies?he kinda looks ridiculous anyway.put him to work, the fucking slacker.
Maybe it was the quality of the video, but I'm not really feeling this.. there isn't as much passion as there should be. It is the first for me, I like all of Lissie's covers.. but this one is best kept to Led Zepplin
PPS I echo Iszy's comment about the hairs on the back of your neck standing up. And if you really want to get goose bumps, try synchronising this with the original. Start the original, then pause on the first syllable of "lady" ("there's a lady who's..."). Then start Lissie's, and resume the original (so they're playing simultaneously) when she reaches the same point. For about 30 secs, they're locked together, with Plant's voice a ghostly echo of Lissie's. Freaky, and stunning.
As a lifelong Zep fan (I was born the day they did their first gig - which goes to show how old I am!), I hate to admit it but this is almost as good as the original, and actually better than the Zep's "official" live version (on The Song Remains The Same). In other words, it's awesome. PS Is she singing at the same pitch as Plant or an octave higher? If the same, it just shows what an incredible voice RP had. (It's still pretty good, but it was off the scale back then.)
Stairway..what to say? Reminds me of discovering Zeppelin. Of starting a band, learning how to play guitar. Working out who can sing, and who can't. Of being blown away, by girl singers. And bands starting out. This has it all. Everything a great song and band, should be....

Good singing but epic fail from the rest of the band! Maybe they shouldn't have banned Stairway from the guitar shops so the guy would've got some practice...
She did this song here in Oslo on Sunday. Excellent. It was a bit better with an extra dude on drums so that the dudes could concentrate on their bass and guitar!
@pepsifunk I agree. My heart sank when I heard they were to attempt a cover of this masterpiece, but hell, it was amazing. I actually think on reflection this song lends itself to a female vocal.
Well done Lissie , a great song sung with heart and soul . I listened to you sing this live on radio 2 , it made the hair's stand up . Keep going girl your fan base is growing all the time ....Love and peace .
Dec 1970 Jimmy Page & Robert Plant in Headley Grange, Hampshire recorded this perfect song and it was released in 1971 by Island records Under the band name of the legends that is Led Zeppelin. Many bands tried to do covers of this song and maybe one Band did do it justice in Oct 1985 The Far Corporation did a spin on this perfect record. In my car the othe day I hear this on Radio 2, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Just pure beautiful and flawless many thanks Lissie & Crew...
Is it just me, or does she sound even better live?

This is ridiculously crazy great. How insane do you have to be to cover Stairway to
Heaven ...... how talented do you have to be to pull it off? Best new artist in the past ten years. Jaw-dropping performance of a tired tune.

If the guitarist were a bit....
Dunno how to put it....While he was playing towards the beginning, some of the notes didn't fully sound.
If he could fix that, this would almost be perfect. Also, Comb your hair dude!
Overall, This was epic. Gave me the chills, in a good way.
