  • This would be in my top ten movies it is very simple to understand and watch the writing is very good too, but the acting especially ernest borgnine is out of this world, i felt for him so much yet loved him too simply wonderful.

  • one of my favorite movies of all time! the first time i saw this, my throat almost closed up from crying so hard. the movie touches on a deep longing for love and loneliness---universal feelings that most of us go through or have gone through at one time or another. these roles were really made for borgnine and blair, two average looking actors who had extraordinary gifts to touch the most innate feelings in us! this movie is a gift.... it really is.

  • This film is, in my opinion one of the more Capra-esque of later pictures and one of my favorites. No more of this superficial business!

  • EEEEEEEEEEVILLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • Ernest Borgnine delivers a sympathic performance as Marty a man desperately looking for someone to cling to.

  • Feliz Cumpleaños Mr Borgnine....

  • Loved the movie; does anyone know the name of the orchestra that was playing at the ballroom?

  • Just the most romantic movie. Ernest Borgnine is just awsome.

  • Good movie Martys friends were too funny in this movie.....is it on DVD????

  • Ol' Burt looks like hes just stepped off Mount Olympus lol. Hardly the common man. Great actor though.

  • What a weird way to advertise a movie, given the way we do it nowadays.

  • Props to Spongebob for reuniting Ernie and Tim Conway some 40 years after McHale's Navy.

  • great movie. i love ernest borgnine! and how dare they call her a dog, shes a cutie! some people have bad taste.

  • and now he's doing spongebob. ernest

  • such a funny and a good movie

i watched it last night on AMC and i don't usually like old movies but i thought this was good !

  • My mom and I love this movie. I'm glad he followed his heart at the end of the movie instead of listening to his friends. I didn't even know Betsy Blair died last year till I saw her in TCM Remembers 2009 obit.

  • @YourShitStinksToo She did?! awww naw. That's lame.

  • I really want to see this! Always loved Ernest Borgnine, nice to hear of a film that he starred in.

  • this is my second favourite movie It makes me cry and not many things do. a talanted actor .,who was underated

  • @ctitchley3819

who is underated, he`s still alive and still doing actering!

  • @ctitchley3819 Underrated? He won the Oscar for this part.

  • phew...this looks really good

  • One of the greatest films ever produced.
