lol i love the face my boxers have when they know they did somethin they should not have done and if my step dad catches them and starts yelling they go and hide behind me its they cutest thing ever!
lots being said about disciplining your dog at the moment they do something you dont want to do.. easy to say.. hard to apply.. specially when your not there.. what are you gonna do.. make your dog watch the spy cam of them doing bad things, then tell them no? as for the "I told you before I left" yea, she probably didn't understand.. Dogs may not have the best comprehension skills, but they read more from body language and emotions than we ever could... she knew what was what.. great vid btw :D
omg/. my grandma had a boxer named katie with the same colors and face and everything. she is soo cute. funny how they know they are in trouble so fast
crate training, when used intelligently, is a boon to both puppy and owner. there's nothing wrong with giving a dog a 'place of its own' to go to when you're not home or busy or the front door is open, etc. it also cuts down on the inevitable property damage that a puppy does.
What's funny is that the owners don't have a clue how to train a pup.
Just for the record... canines do NOT know they did something they shouldn't have while unsupervised. When bored they will find whatever means to entertain themselves.
Not the pups fault for chewing the carpet but the owners for not being bright enough to keep her confined while unsupervised.
A pup/dog is only as well trained as the owner has been taught to teach
@ashdragon1 this is simply untrue, when I get back to my house and my roommates dog has chewed up some paper or knocked over the trash, as soon as i open the door he runs and hides under my roommates bed. even if i act like nothing is wrong and try and get him to come out and play, he will often stay there for over thirty minutes unless one of us drags him out and his tail is always buried between his legs. He knows exactly what he did was wrong but lucky as we punish him he does bad things less
@JMMAU14 Actually your wrong ... The dog would not know he did something wrong but what he would know someone who he is fearful of, someone who has physically or verbally punished the dog causing it to be afraid of what may be coming. Dogs live in the moment and unless redirected at the time they are doing somehting inappropriate they have absolutely no idea what or why they are being punished, all that they know is that someone is pissed off.
@ashdragon1 hopefully Katie's owner now understands this wonderful philosophy which is taught by many trainers including Cesar Milan and the british lady Victoria on "Its me or the dog". But if she hasn't, she should pick up a book. I damaged my first two boxers by verbally punishing them. Through many long hours of retraining them I was able to reverse that damage. I now have a bull mastiff that I did it right the first time and he is my angel
@JMMAU14 Most of the time when your dog has misbehaved, they may know they did something wrong because of the verbal abuse you have previously given them; however, that it not the best way to fix the problem or get your dog to bond with you. As many trainers have proven, misbehaviors are due to built up energy. If you exercise your dog before leaving, it will greatly reduce their pent up energy/misbehaviors. Correcting misbehaviors must also be done as they are caught in the act, not afterwards
@ashdragon1 Well thank you for your unsolicited advice, Dr. Authority. Thank God the internet has people like you patrolling it to give us all advice whether we need it or not. Too bad youtube doesn't have an "ignore" feature. Then you'd see what a self-righteous prick you are.
@cincyblows ashdragon is actually 100% correct. And when you put your content on a public cite, you are openly subjecting yourself to other's opinions. Just as you have the right to vent yours, so does everyone else. Get. Over. It.!!
@CrAzY4BoXeRs yeah, well, it kinda sucks when every single fucking dog video out there has to have its moment ruined by people like ashdragon, even when there is absolutely nothing wrong with the owner's treatment of the dog. he really is a self - righteous prick who has to nitpick , and a lot of people are getting tired of the the self-righteous pricks who have to ruin every cute little animal video. i don't blame cincyblows for getting angry, in fact i completely agree with him/her.
I remember once when my boxer was a puppy, she somehow got framed posters and newspapers off the wall and when I came home it looked like a snowstorm. She was about this size. All I could do was laugh. She's 9 now and still acts like a little puppy.
@LuigiStone agreed this poor dog has no idea what shes done wrong. You need to actually catch them doing it and tell them off right then and there, its like that withpretty much all animals. otherwise they have no idea why they are in trouble
@KiwiAng3l as yes she knows what she's done wrong.... because we've caught her in the act before and not to soon afterward. And yes sometimes their is literally accidents that happen. and no i do not get onto her for that. because sometimes i cant read her signs telling me she wants to go outside.... If you actually pop your dog one good time on the but, and tell her she has done. She will catch on really quickly what is going on and remember not to do it next time.
@KiwiAng3l because believe it or not they actually have brains and can remember crap that goes on..... and i only had to do that to her a couple of times and now she is pretty much house broken. Now if u just gingerly so "you have been a bad girl, bad girl!" and dont do anything behind it. Yes she will be like what the heck is going on. What have i done wrong? It's just like parents with kids, when they do something bad they just put them in time out, it does absolutely nothing, they don't learn
@LuigiStone i beg to differ..... I have 2 boxes one is 7 years old and the other is 5 months old and The month old is always getting into stuff. It don't matter if we catch her in the act or right after. we still get onto her for it and she never does it again.... And if she does do it again. She will go hide for a min and then come lick my hands and face. In a way apologizing for what she did..
@LuigiStone actually no i dont, i pop them on the but one time and tell them either their a bad girl or bad boy. Thats it..... if u actually use a stern enough voice. They learn pretty quickly. Since those days all i got to do now is pretty much just call one of their names when they have done something bad, and they know what they did. Boxers are probably one of the smartest dogs out there.... and learn stuff remarkably fast.
@LuigiStone its not like they pee in the floor and you get onto them for it, then 5 sec later they forget everything and just crap themselve's again.....
@LuigiStone and my oldest one i havent pop'd his tell since he was a baby... he is fully trained now, he can sit, stay, laydown, speak etc. and he more the less learned them on his own. i didnt even train him on how to speak or sit.
i saw this video right after it was posted and i still come back to watch it every once in a while. its hilarious!! my monster boxer is 4 years old now and still barks when she gets scolded. its hard to scold her because she talks back and i cant help but laugh. Katy is adorable and you're lucky a boxer parent.
So how is the dog supposed to understand English after the fact, which it does not understand 'it' anyway?
How about get the pup a crate or enclosure and train it to chew a toy for fun and exercise? You know.... like every trainer in America knows and tells their clients.
@blackdogxx For your information!! dogs do understand human language!! there was a border collie that hold a World Guinness record by knowing and understanding the meaning of more than 1000 words in english. My boxer understood about a 1000 words!! there smarter than you are, I noticed, since you are just talking about something you have no clue of.. just plain ignorance!!
hello! friendly word of advice here; scolding the dog a long time after she did something wrong isn't going to work. You have to be able to catch the dog at the time of the incident or else the dog will not associate the bad thing that it did.
@crankatorium You do not. That is so bull. Dogs remember what they did wrong, especially boxers. Any boxer owner has noticed when a boxer will not enter a room knowing they did something wrong or avoiding an area once their owner has noticed a pile of poop. lol. They remember, and they associate the bad thing even if it is hours afterwards.
my boxer has mad attitude too... oh im getting in trouble!!! WELL BARK AT YOU TOO LADY!!!! yep... what characters lol... hard headed but they are too cute!!!
I love boxers mine passed about a year ago :'( he was 13 and his name was maverick:)and when my dad held his fist up he would pounch and bite on it :P
How funny. I remember when I had my dog, we`d go outside and he would just stand there and watch us, and when we got near whatever it was he had destroyed he would run and go hide somewhere because he knew he was in trouble. Then hed try to act all cute so that we didnt get mad at him, but he KNEW what he had done wrong! lol
somebody ask me what would I do? round up all her toys and play right after doing just what they did.... puppys need to chew. NO HITTING with a paper or anything else... you will only rule by fear then and they wont learn anything
ive commented on this before and ive watched it a 100times. 0.21 the look on katies face is priceless.. i love watching her.. i wish you would post more puppy antics of her.. shes just way too cute to deprive the public of it!!
she is the most adorable thing EVER!!!!!!!!! she's like a moody little toddler throwing a tantrum and hiding behind people's legs whhen she gets scolded! : )
She looks exactly like my 3 month old pup lola. All they do is get into trouble and wneh you talk to them about it they bark and nip at you. Love my puppy!
I love boxers! The only thing im gna do is make sure mine has a tail!! I think it is real cute when they have a tail. In most of europe it is actually banned to cut off the tail.
@ShayneWallaceENT actually its just a perferd look buyers like, and because breeders know this they do it right away, it really doesn't have anything to do with health issues or anything like that its purely how buyers like there boxers to look, i personally love the docked tail look but i have a friend who has to boxers and both are all natural no docking of the tail or cutting of the ears, i dunno all preference.
@ShayneWallaceENT They dock them because they're such a hyper breed that they constantly hit their tail on things if it isn't docked, and it can cause them to get really sick and even die in some cases if an infection spreads into their body. Breeders will have their tails docked before you get your dog, because it has to be done in the first week when they can't really feel it (or after 8 wks old they have to actually go under general anesthesia to get it done, which costs more).
my new boxer looks exactly like yours

Don't tell a dog that is bad for a thing she did in the past. You should have caught her doing that before saying no.

thats why you tape the carpet before leaving a dog alone in a house. but shes cute and shes just a dog com'on.

The only bad thing about boxers is they dont live forever!!! xD
laikiunreal 1 year ago
@laikiunreal Well said. I've had a few Boxers in my life. They each lived a long, long time, but not long enough. Best breed, ever.

How funny. I remember when I had my dog, we`d go outside and he would just stand there and watch us, and when we got near whatever it was he had destroyed he would run and go hide somewhere because he knew he was in trouble. Then hed try to act all cute so that we didnt get mad at him, but he KNEW what he had done wrong! lol

I love boxers! The only thing im gna do is make sure mine has a tail!! I think it is real cute when they have a tail. In most of europe it is actually banned to cut off the tail.
Krychev 1 year ago
@Krychev
I think boxers are supposed to get their tails cut off for a reason.
ShayneWallaceENT 1 year ago
@ShayneWallaceENT actually its just a perferd look buyers like, and because breeders know this they do it right away, it really doesn't have anything to do with health issues or anything like that its purely how buyers like there boxers to look, i personally love the docked tail look but i have a friend who has to boxers and both are all natural no docking of the tail or cutting of the ears, i dunno all preference.
fsinatra420 1 year ago
@fsinatra420
Oh okay.I've heard Boxers are supposed to get their tails docked for health reasons.
I never have seen one Boxer without it's tail docked.I know i wont dock my Boxers tail when i get one.
ShayneWallaceENT 1 year ago
@ShayneWallaceENT They dock them because they're such a hyper breed that they constantly hit their tail on things if it isn't docked, and it can cause them to get really sick and even die in some cases if an infection spreads into their body. Breeders will have their tails docked before you get your dog, because it has to be done in the first week when they can't really feel it (or after 8 wks old they have to actually go under general anesthesia to get it done, which costs more).
Good luck!
