  • i have an idea what about cutting the cards at the beginning when they are upside down you idiot.btw i know this card trick when i was 9 years old

  • I know how it's done it's easy

  • Congratulations , a very clever mathematical trick - well presented - good video.

If you have'nt done so already study the Gilbreath Principle, it's brilliant !

  • but mathmaticly, where did the nine come from?

  • @trialanderror620 I'm not sure but I thinks it because the last two card where 5 and 7 so he went with a 9

  • I know how u do it.

You just remember the 7th card when you are dealing the first 26

  • A load of you are trying to sound really posh, using big words and over-complicating the simple solution that is - memorise the 7th card you put down when counting out the 26 cards, and then the total of the three cards you put down later, in this case the Jack, the 5 and the 7 - so the 22nd card is the 7th card u memorised. Its one of those tricks that works on its own sorta thing, but to explain how it works would be over complicating the simple fact ;)

  • when he count the first pile he remember the nine of diamons tumbs up for tutorial

  • This one is Easy and an Old Classic. Its called "Perfect Tens"

You pretend to count the cards but face-up. While doing so what you got to Memorise is the SEVENTH Card in the Deck. Then Do the thing he did and What you find is that the card you pick out is the SEVENTH Card that you Memorised.

Its easy. Unfortunately YouTube doesn't allow me to give the whole solution in a Post. :(

But you can Google The Solution to this Problem. Or, you can find the solution out yourself(Like Me)

  • @singingbanana hmmmmmm I know how the trick was done, lol because you see as I watched this video I noticed 1 very important thingyou you grabbed the top half of the deck you first counted out you quickly went off screen with it and came back very fast with a pac that looked MUCH thicker than it was telling me when you took the pack off screen you switched it with a preset pack with the 9 of diamonds already in the 22nd position and you knew it was the 9 of diamonds aead of time, lol

  • @goldstud you're making it way to complicated. the card is always in the same position, and he counted out the cards face up...

  • Okay, I got it and I got 9 every time but how the heck did you know it was diamond 9?

  • i got everything exept how you now it's a 9 plz answer sombody

  • Easy trick just memorise the 7th cards guys as simple as that.

  • stop fighting 1.mismag822 has it 2.hello again everybody 3.i have to go piss

  • after reading the comments my head hurts

  • the trick is easy. when u count out the 26 cards at the start, your card is the 6th card (if the cards are placed on top of eachother) from the pile that is set aside. jsut memorize it then make up a lame excuse at the end lol

  • how did you know that the card was 9 and damond??? please tell me

  • @MrMarios16 Well it is easy mathematics but Im not too good to explain.

So to know which card it will fall all you have to do is when counting face down your 26 cards memorise the 7th one.

It will then work by itself and then you say a lot of rubbish as if youre guessing the card but you should know it already.

  • I... don't even own a deck of cards.

  • how did you get 9 lol?

  • how do you know the card was 9 , could you please do another vedio explan it two times. thx

  • If you really enjoy card tricks come and see my channel where you can find some tricks to learn and have fun with. I have it for beginners intermediates and advanced magicians

    Thanks

  • what is that deck ???

  • You just memorise the 7th card you put down, at 0:20 it is the 9 of diamonds. Then the maths does the rest. That's brilliant! But you have to make up a reason for choosing the 9 of diamonds which wasn't so brilliant. But it is still good though, I like it.

  • witch!!!

  • Look aces count as one. THEY DO NOT WORTH 10 THEY ARE WORTH 1!!!! SO IF U GET IT THEN ADD 9 TO IT OK?!!? ALWAYS WORKS TRUST ME

  • my favourite ^^

  • Math rulez!

  • NO !!! i suck at math ... but this card trick looks awesome -_-

  • Great, now split the deck in two halves with the backside up.

  • My friend showed me and some other friends this trick a few weeks ago. He did it a few times, and then I figured it out on my own. It's not that hard to figure out, but he was shocked as were the rest of my friends.

  • Looked into it furether and 2 , 2, 3 is OK (list all 26 cards so 2 + 2 + 3 = 7 so we are OK!

    It's just 2, 2, 2 that fails!!!

    Very very unlikely!!!

  • @MsOfficeman I'm not convinced we should allow Ace to be a picture card... but it's still quite unlikely - and we know how to fix it :)

  • No!!!

Just realised, treat Ace as a picture card (10) and it works.

However, do the same and use 2s rather than Aces, you run out of cards in the third column as before.

    Column 1 has a 2 plus 8 cards face down = 9

    Column 2 has a 2 plus 8 cards face down = 9

Column 3 has a 2 plus 7 cards face down = 8 (ran out of cards!)

3x2 is 6 but our card is still the 7th one down as we didn't add an cards to first pile.

    Surely, this is wrong.

    I admit it's unlikely though!

  • @MsOfficeman Good point. If you get stuck like this you would have to say "whoops! We've run out of cards. Let's use some of the cards from the pile we discarded." Continue counting using cards from the top of the discarded pile. You should be ok again.

  • @singingbanana What a brilliant idea! I wouldn't have thought of that!

  • @singingbanana it is not a math trick he just sees the 4th or whatever card he wants when he splits the deck and thenjust makes up a story

  • Have I found a "Bug" in this trick?

I understand the reveals given below and can do the trick easily. I think I have broken it using the following sequence of cards:

    1) Separate out the aces.

    2) Deal out the 26 cards and remember the 7th card.

For the 26 left, order them in this way.

    3) An ace followed by 9 random cards.

    4) Another ace followed by another 9 random cards.

    5) Another ace follwed by the remaining 5 cards - you run out of cards.

    3*Ace = 3. Card is 7th down! Ideas?

  • hmmm "i have 3 piles here so ima say the 22nd card is a nine..." 3 piles doesnt explain why you would pick a 9 so its just making up stuff to get to a certain card in the deck which is memorized

  • how did you get "9" again?...is it always u pick #9?...i'm messed up man......

  • I know how to do this:D

  • RIGGED

  • sorry English is not my 1st language, would you please write down what he said during 0:58-1:03 ?

  • Well, We've got 3 piles here so I'm going to say that the card is a nine. Hope that helps.

  • i dont understand why you picked 9

  • @Shadoslicer

thats the trick. the ninth card that he set down was a nine of diamonds

  • @K1ll3rsfan286

    my bad the seventh

  • @Shadoslicer 7th card in the pack

  • this was the second math trick i learned

  • haha thats cool i never knew that before let me go show perform it somewhere

  • i know this.. always remember the 7th card when you show the 26 card. just remember 7th card

  • So wait, i kept doin this trick and never got it to work. Are the other comments right, is he just in fact memorising the cards when he originally deals them?

  • @crazymurdav he learns seventh card only, in this case 9th of diamonds. the rest gets done by the math

  • he memorised the 7th card while he was counting out 26 cards i know this trick

  • i don't get how you predicted the nine. :(

  • He memorized 7th card when counting out.

    the 26 he used to make piles = piles of: 1, 6 and 4 = 11.

    26-11=15

    10+5+7 = 22

    22-15 = 7

  • yeah mismag822 revealed this same trick.

  • hahas. i know this trick :P

  • it's easy, it's a different deck, when he picks the deck up he swaps it for a rigged deck, XD

  • Comment removed

  • how do you do that? O.o

  • pft! Mathematician...

    more like mathemagician!!!!

  • awesome!

  • wish im a mathematician.. :[

  • I know that trick, It is very nifty, and most people can never guess how you do it!

  • but is it mathematical? like does it work everytime with everyone?

  • =P

     im bamboozled

  • The 7th card laid down in the first half-deck is key.

The three stacks can be written as [11-a], [11-b], and [11-c].

The 2nd half-deck after those piles are removed is expressed 26-(11-a+11-b+11-c) which is equal to -7+a+b+c. Now that pile is added to the first half-deck of 26 making it equivilent to 26+(-7+a+b+c) or 19+a+b+c.

Now an amount equal to a+b+c is removed from that half-deck. So, the resulting card will always be the 19th card down from the first half-deck, or the 7th card up

  • didnt get it at first but Error081688 prett ymuch reveals the trick!!! Awesome explanation...Thanks

  • so the trick is fake, using another form of math to show a simpler form.

  • @Error081688 ok i believe your point but.. how does he know that the 19th card it the 9 of diamonds??

  • @higafujiyoshi Well, the 19th card down is also the 7th card up as he is putting the cards down initially. So, as he is counting the cards in the beginning (1, 2, 3, etc), he quickly memorizes the 7th card.

  • @Error081688 The only thing I'm confused about is where the number 11 comes from. How can you be sure that every time you do it there will be a total of 11 cards amongst the 3 piles? And if you can't be sure of the 11, then how would you know that a b and c add up to 22, to get the -7 and then the 19?

  • @elizze6 Well there is probably a more elegant way to describe it, but 11 was really just an observed constant. I thought, if the first card of that pile is a 10, how many cards will be in that pile? 1. What if that card was a 3, then how many cards will be in the pile? 8. So what theory can I form that fits these data points? 11-(the first card number)=(total number of cards in the pile). That equation holds true for every possible value for the first card and so it will always be true.

  • Cool trick and very easy to do

  • Hey There . i know this trick . My uncle told me the trick . it was easy as ABC !

  • can you explain it please.. i wanna know the trick.. please =)

  • mismag822 explains it

  • a little frantic, but cool

  • hmm.... when you first started laying down cards the 9D was the seventh card

  • ahh i love this trick. i do it all the time, its really easy :)

  • omg that was soo cool.... until i figured it out...

but now my mum is speechless now that ive done it on her lol

  • Check out the 7th card he puts down in the 1st pile of 26. For a tutorial search mismag822.

  • BURN THE WITCH

  • omg... HOW!!!! :OOOOO
