  • The snail is no longer hungry, of course not, he just ate a whole fish alive! Next time ill see a snail that i almost step on, ill make sure i step on it just for having sea cousins like that :-p

  • @LadyAracchnia Haha

  • F U damn snail

  • "They like to burrow into the sand and wait..."

That snail is Such a camper!

  • Why is every undersea creature like a water-based version of the Zerg?

  • NOOOOOOMMMMMMM

  • fuck you cone snails! thumbs up if you agree!

  • this makes me hungry

  • that thing looks like where the japanese got the idea for their tentacle porn

  • Guess the snail is only vulnerable when eating

  • they are making medicine using this now that is helping people with severe pain and spinal cord injuries. it is called prialt.

  • "The snail is no longer hungry." No really? You think so?

  • & thats why I think Cone snails are the creepiest sea creatures ever.

  • Now we all know one of the reasons why divers wear full-body suits. Imagine what would happen if you stepped on or near one of these while barefoot.

  • BOOM SHAKALAKA

  • no comment about this

  • I got an itch while watching this, and I freaked out!!

  • @TheGoodKindOfPain lol Your username is kind of ironic.

  • can the Needle be Removed Without Killing the Cone Snail?

  • Comment removed

  • O.O!

  • All of these types of shells have a sting. Cone shells vary in color and size - when diving/snorkeling in tropical waters it is advisable to learn about the dangerous marine life in the areas your exploring. There are actually 7 different cone shells that are considered "deadly" and the one featured in this clip, called "conus striatus", is one of those classed as deadly.

  • cone snails is smug.

  • why the fish didnt swimed away like hell?

  • who will win cone snail or mr.hammer

  • I want to see a video of the harpoon in slow-motion.

  • OOH, mean!!!! this bad boy is like scorpion from mortal kombat!

  • COME HERE

  • This will make me think twice about picking up shells at the beach. What if one had one of THESE snails inside??????

  • To be swallowed by a snail, how pathetic.

  • i wonder how does it look like without its shell?

  • wow, its shaped like a harpoon. Amazing weapon of the Cone snail. Such mastery and such precision. And what a big mouth that snail has!!

  • supposedly, when it hits you, it can kill you from just the hit itself. it hurts that badly. if your lucky and survive the pain, you get paralyzed.

  • i want one in a aquarium :D

  • They are also known as cigarette snails...cause if certain species of it sting you, well you have about as much time as it takes to enjoy a smoke - to live. You don't want one in your fish tank man.

  • I think he is implying he would get people he doesn't like to stick their hands inside.

  • very cool animal! :D

  • i seen this on t.v so becafull people if u get hit by this thing you can die in 3 hours

  • what the fuck is whining? Is the fish crying as its stabbed?

  • No, that's the part of the background music. It's a bad choice of the music though.

  • That bi-color blenny didnt stand a chance, I have something in my tank that looks identical to this sea cone but its essentially an algae feeder, keeps a good rotation of the sand at the bottom of my tank aswell.

  • anatome helena

  • holy crap that's cool

  • I saw this on Animel planet and i was amazed, it can paralize a grown man instantly and kill him in a few minutes, you only have time to smoke a cigarette and your finished.

  • This snail's kinda like a gluttonous ninja!

  • I hate seeing aiptasia.

  • ack i wana see more movies about these, but there arnt many, not long ones

  • that fish should have kept attacking it so it wouldn't be able to fire its harpoon

  • i have a headache......... :'(

  • omg it eats the fish alive...i'd hate to be paralyzed and slowly digested at the same time

  • @Chinesebaobao

it's not just paralyzed. the fish would be long dead even before being hal swallowed.

  • what a evil bastard that thing is.

  • @LADjsim

This is the top rated comment? Seriously?

Folks, this is a carniverous snail. It can't go vegan, and it uses poison and stealth because that's about the only way a snail could ever catch a fish. It makes no sense to hate on things because they eat. If you're a living thing, harming other living things through either predation or competition is a requirement for survival, even if you're a plant. If the snail poisoned fish for fun, then you'd be justified in saying it's evil.

  • @knowyourunknowns well...i know a ellaborate troll when i see one.that was a statment i posted a year ago,and it was a sarcastic though.to you however, you must really be bored enough to exhert your intellectual superiority on a comment that was sarcastic.i'm well aware this is how they survive in the natural world. in any case,TROLL HARDER NIGGER!

  • @LADjsim

Poe's Law strikes again. Difficult to recognize the sarcasm in your comment, and there are people out there who actually believe what you said in your comment. I figured you and the people giving you thumbs up were among them. Yes, your comment is a year old but what I said was as much for them as it was for you. And where did the intellectual superiority and troll lines come from? I'm just disagreeing with you and saying that in my opinion, your comment isn't worth +18 thumbs.

  • @knowyourunknowns you're asking a spiratic anarchist to explain the phenomenon of why so many agree with me....maybe people appreciate the sarcastic statement i just posted. in any case,it would be irrelevant to ask me why i said that A YEAR AGO.so i'd just read it and move on,instead of attempting to belittleing me over a empty minded comment i posted A YEAR AGO.

  • OMG where did all of that come from. It's like a folded hot air baloon inside a frikin cup.

  • That's one badass snail...not putting him in with my fish anytime soon..

  • ya no kiding, like the video said: it(the snail)has a harpoon loaded with a neuro-toxic mix so complex that no anti-venom can stop it. and its armed with at least 100,000 toxins, more then any other creature...

  • 100 different toxins. not 100,000

  • i got nasty poison ill cum on the snail and itll die :P

  • Grow up.

  • like you did??

  • you've been harponed b**ch! lol

  • -puts on big giant boots...walks around... oops =[

  • trogh its prabasabisx lmao im not sure if i can even say it

  • though its proboscis?

  • Nasty but awesome.

  • Quote from wikipedia:

"The sting of many of the smaller cone species may be no worse than that of a bee or hornet sting, but in the case of a few of the larger tropical species, handling the snail can have fatal consequences. About 30 human deaths have been recorded from cone snail envenomation."

Therefore try to avoid touching these mother fuckers! No anti-venom!

  • nassty

  • totally bad ass fish

  • OMG!!! Poor blenny!!! I have one of those in my tank!

  • step on that at the beach .....instant steve erwin

  • wtf is a probascis lol

  • aww that first fishy was so cute

  • Yes, one sting can be potentially fatal since there is no antivenom for it

  • FISHY SAIS NOO!

  • can they kill humans?

  • Yes, hundreds at once!

  • WHATTHEFUCK?!?!

Damn, since when could "snails" suck down a whole fish?! I was NOT expecting that... XD

"Hey, little cutie. How's my little--- Oh my god, it shot me! Help! Help! I've been poisonod! Gah! Ah! AH! It's sucking down my arm! AAAAH!!!" XD

  • pouhaha XD yeah must tottaly suck!

  • This kinda turned me on???

  • OWNED at 1:27

  • 140 toxins of inevitable pwnage.

  • oohhh... now that's what" LOOKS CAN BE DECIEVING" means.. haha.. scary thought... NOOOO!!!

  • When I went scuba diving in the red sea, this is the creature I feared of seeing most..

  • I Came On looking For Videos Of Exactly This. In My Tropical Aquarium My Red-Bellied Pirahna Kept Turning Up Dead Without The Flesh Tearing From Other Fish. Perplexed, As I Have Only a CONE Snail and Two Other Hermit-Type Crabs, What Was Killing My Pirahna. So Its Not Only When THEYRE Hungry They Will Kill For Later Use Or If Feel Threatened. Crazy Shit Snail Cost me 400 Bucks in Fish Already. damnit

  • squish that snail

  • The hell with that! Scoop it into a pot and boil it, then quarantine the pot!

  • ive never even heard of this thing. so what are the chances that you're going to turn up dead because of this thing? i mean, is it instant death to humans as well?

  • I am not sure about this one but the Marbled Cone Snail is poisonous as hell! It is the 7th most poisonous creature on earth (that means more poisonous than most snakes, spiders and scorpions)

  • "the snail is no longer hungry", no shit?

Whats best is that theres no antidote.

  • I wish I could shoot deadly poisonous harpoons out of my eyes.

  • wow! did u see how he killed it and then ate it....who would of thought a snail could do this

  • yups, they are somehow like snakes with their eating XD the gobble it all up in 1 go bit XD

  • Seems so small, yet the true power is hidden under cone. Watch out, you might be the next target! :P

  • Awesome. I like those snails.

  • what a beast

  • that has death writtieen all over

  • Cone snails scare the hell out of me.

  • sneaky little cone snails, 100 different toxins!

  • Oh my god! I love this shit!

  • fish are so stupid

  • OMG..the swallowing part was disturbing..

  • looked painful too

  • octopus

  • Cats and bigger fishes

  • almost of every living thing eat fish...Humans,sharks, octpous, bear, and that Snail cone thing etc.. you name it penguins, birds, wow the list is long! O.o oh and sea lions

  • How did the underwater filmers get so close to it without disturbing it? Amazing...

  • The footage is from an aquarium. They use stationary cameras, polecams, and a use high-resolution zoom for the close-up shots. At no time during the filming of segments like these, with any animal, are the people filming the creature anywhere near it.

  • Oh, OK. Thanks- that helps a lot!

  • No problem. If you're lucky, you might find some of the Behind the Scenes footage of shows like these. We see two and a half minutes of this footage, but I heard it took five hours of waiting for that snail to finally kill and eat the fish. They tried to do this one time, with an eel, using normal handheld cameras, but the camera guys kept falling asleep and missing the eel attacking the fish. There's footage of this floating around the web, don't know if it's here, but it's quite funny.

  • Wow! lol.

  • poor fishie...huhuhu....

  • That snails makes me afraid to collect sea shells now. xD

  • wat if........... i had this 30 pound carp problem??? would it be worth the risk of stepping on this thing I DONT FUCKING THINK SO

  • Did they say over a hundred different poisons and no antidote? Wow, overkill much?

  • lol ya

  • Note to self: When going Scuba divin bring alot of salt just incase i spot a cone snail

    Yikes

  • i dont think that would help cuz the ocean has salt already

  • it was a joke...

  • I felt bad for the fish lets go to nukelear

    war with those things!

  • wow, note to self: stay away from cone snails

  • Hydrocloric acid? Pft. No, let's just nuke it. That thing could probably survive a torpedo. This is what we should be worried about! Not wars, but poison snails! The war on poison snails.

  • that's a mean snail

  • when I was scuba diving on the Great Barrier reef they warned us about these things...apparently every year some tourist finds one of these cool looking cone shaped shells, sticks it in their pocket and winds up dead shortly after...kinda cool for a snail...If it were a French tourist, that would kinda be poetic justice :P

  • Hmm. And I thought normal snails were pretty gross.

  • lol when the snail eat the fish it eminded me of dbz when cell abzoared androied 17

  • loser dbz sucks balls they sound like they have a hard time getting shit out with those fucking grunting noises they make. get a life

  • yeah..that was pretty pathetic putting whining noises in this...but this sums up this world pretty easy though....lazy shit for brains creator who has a sadistic streak to it.

  • uh.... doesn't it live in the ocean? ocean= (salt) water.

  • metal \m/

  • I saw this snail in The most extreme. It looks deadly.

  • WOW Thats one bad ass mutha.

  • I always thought all snails were harmless. Incredible footage and research as always, of course. Thanks N.G.

  • "What a nice creation Of our Creator Allah. Indeed there is a sign in the creation for whome who has knowledge and think about it"... Still some of us will say there is no GOD...I witness there is no GOD But Allah.

  • FAHHHHHH

thats why its soo scary to swim here in Australia, first those nasty box jellyfish, and now this? ~_~

  • I dont wanna step on one of those

  • which part of the ocean can they be found?

  • East coast of Aus.

They get big & nasty in the warmers waters.

  • It lives in salt water, silly. Might I suggest hydrochloric acid?

  • cool

  • one more reason to stay out of the ocean, i didnt know snails ate meat

  • wow

  • OMG- a big box of salt please!

  • that's one HUGE snail!

  • COOL!

  • ahhh poor fish T_T

  • wow! that is scary!!

  • Wow!

  • yeah right- the fish was 'whimpering' when it got caught. Come on guys, you can fool most of us into believing this wasn't filmed in a tank, but not this.

  • Ahh, the old' canned shoot. I remember back when Marty Stouffer hosted a show called "Wild America" and I think it got cancelled from him using caught wild animals and making staged videos.

  • they can be forgiven some things because it would be otherwise impossible to witness certain things in the wild- but that fish was 'whining' when it got caught. :0

  • Whoaaa

  • u like the ending when the snail is 300x it size becose it ate te fish and te lady goes in a serious voice: " the snail is no longer hungry" hrmmm well yea how could it right ;)?

  • I like the music in the background.

  • wow....yea i didn't know snails could kill..

Well you learn something new everyday! Thats crazy tho
