I find it amusing that someone who has declared that he himself understands poetry, follows up his acclamaition with 'dumb fuck'. Surely somebody who truelly does understand poetry like him could come up with a more dignified unsult than 'dumb fuck'. I'm guessing this is a boy of about 13-15 years old who's cultural resumé consists of poems he himself has attempted to write and the poems he studied in his english lessons at school.

Lyrically, I think Carl Barat and Pete Doherty can't go together because if you listen to their separate songs and compare them with songs they did together on the libertines' records, it's apparent that they had a tough time over the lyrics. You can easily tell because it's not that Carl Barat's lyrical preference is any much different from Pete's. It's the fact that they have a different way to write their songs and plug a diff. message in them.
