I remember learning about this crash... essentially the pilot forgot to remove his control lock before takeoff, so when he rotated, he had no pitch control. The lock holds it in the pull-back position, so on takeoff the plane pulled quickly up, then crashed. Probably didn't realize the problem in time.

Unfortunately this was a real crash, 2 men died on this test flight when controle locks were accidently left in place before take off. Lesson to us all, full and free movement !! RIP
