  • Holly I am sooooooo excited to try the 1-up! I was in a horrible car accident eight tears ago. You are an angel!

  • Thank you so much for being so creative to come up with a product like this! I had a pretty bad accident a year ago that left me one handed for a few months and I just felt so depressed about everything. I especially was upset when I couldn't do the small things that I was able to before. And one day I was searching YouTube for a way to put my hair up with one hand and saw this! This was the beginning of a new way to view the things I struggled with. It helped me to think positively about a new

  • My left arm unable to move since 2007 due to an accident.

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Worked the very first time. It's been over 30 years since my accident & since I've been able to do my own ponytail. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

  • @holaday45 Sorry for the late response. Go to my website (compartmentseventy6) and order a 1-UP from the online shop. Alternatively go to your local fabric shop and have a look.

  • This is really good, but technically, She's using two arms to put up a ponytail. I had a stroke so now im one handed...

  • @KeepDancing89 - Hi. You are correct in that it is not literally one hand. But I do actually have only one hand. I did design the hair tie's initially with myself in mind. I did later think of others that may not even have a residual limb, stump, etc. This is why I thought of method two, which is demonstrated about two minutes into this video. I know it works, as I helped a young lady learn method two to create a ponytail. Of course it will take some practice to make a nice ponytail. Holly

  • @sdchhi1 - Hi there. I'm happy to help you out. Please email me at holly_seventy6@hotmail.com and we can chat.

  • Damn, this is no good for me =(

I lost my forearm, and my stump is paralyzed...

I'm able to tie my hair, in a loose ponytail using just my left hand fingers, but I can't tie a tight ponytail anymore...

  • @CyberClaw - i'm sure we can find a way to make it work for you. I've helped others with paralysis and palsy to tie their hair up.

  • I've recently had a right hand amputation and have been relying on those around me to put my hair in a pony tail. Now I can do it myself :) Thank u Holly.

  • Hi Holly- I ordered your 1UP. With a little bit of practice I have been able to do it! I am a brain tumor survivor and you have changed my life thank you so much. The tumor caused hemiparalysis so only one of my arms is fully functional. It's easier for me personally to the second method. Need to work on my arm a little bit more before I can do the first. Thank you so much!

  • @changingtheworldat17. thanks for your message. I love hearing from my customers, especially when you are of a different ability to me. keep practicing, it gets easier. You may want to try tying a 'finger loop' in the long end to help you get method 1 working for you. :)

  • You have NO IDEA how much this helps me. I am 17 with only my left arm and hand, and I have a right arm, but my right hand is clubbed and has no thumb. I get annoyed when my mom has to put up my hair for me, because I am soon going to live on my own. I am going to try this. Thank you SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS.

p.s. where do you buy those? or how do you make them?

  • so smart !! go girl

  • THANK YOU for making these!!! I have Erb's palsy in my left arm, and for YEARS I've been trying to find a way to put my hair in a ponytail (my favorite hairstyle) by myself. I now have the answer! THANK YOU!! =D

  • Looks like Charlize Theron with one arm. Hot!

  • Excellent video Holly

  • nice job girl ......... i loved it u re so talented
