No you can't; she will always sound "white" so it doesn't matter how hard she can try to sound soulful or "black". Genetically, Africans have thicker vocal cords which makes their speaking voice/singing voice sound different than other races. As an Ethiopian-Canadian, I can notice who's black or not based on their speaking/singing voice.

Come to Jersey City & you'll see for yourself. The ghetto accents give them more of an edge & if you were on the phone with them you wouldn't know yourself. Sometimes I have to ask who it is I'm speaking too, just to make sure. & you being black doesn't mean a thing. That holds ground to nothing.

And as for scientific proof of anything, take it with a grain of salt as there have been conflicting studies done on most everything. (might ask yourself what is the sampling, was it double blind, etc - and then if you quote said study, name it.) Truely nature verses nurture is old, she is the product of both and a very lovely person on her own merits.
