  • How do these affect battery life?

I was using DeskSpace but it was a battery-killer :(

Currently using mDesktop but I'm less than satisfied with its performance.

  • windows sucks!

  • here is a question>

does virtual desktop work as Microsoft virtual pc and oracle virtualbox?

Please help i am seriously confused.

  • you didn't give mac options for virtual desktops. Oh wait...

  • Bill, I want you to make "always on top" option.

  • Gotta love the mention of Linux and how we've had this feature (and other great ones) integrated for years. XD

  • Dexpot is nice, especially the Dexcube. Thanks

  • Snoobs, not cool! This is not a hack-tip - this is just a software tip

  • nice job

  • Let's admit it, windows was jealous about the multidesktop of linux, and now they made it..after like 10 15 years.

  • @MrShoy yeah totally..

  • @MrShoy

microsoft made linux as its first major OS and microsoft created in windows, they probably found a way to incorporate a virtual desktop through all the soft code.

  • @antony9721 Microsoft MADE linux? I dont know how much alchool you drank for saying that, but borrow me a glass of it.

  • Thanks for mentioning our software.

  • now thats a sexy calm shannon :) ...call meeeeee ;) hahaha

  • nice voice

  • Dexpot does has a portable version

  • NETFLIX WHORE

  • Fabulous breasts.

  • what software do you guys use to do the screen capturing ??

  • @nux31 I'm not sure, but that purple thingy looks like camtasia to me.

  • The breaks are getting fucking annoying now.

  • Congrats for new visual design, nice lighting, excellent audio. You can bet Shannon did the best choice.

  • Congrats for new visual design, nice lighting, excellent audio. You can bet Shannon did the best choice.

  • Is there a program which can also modify the desktop icons shown? I would like to have a work desktop with different shortcuts then the normal one not only with different opened applications.

Or did I just not see how to do it with the 3 suggested ones?

    Thx Sungod

  • any of them give the ubuntu cube????

  • My No.1 desktop tool is Rocketdock, it adds a Mac OS style dock to Windows. love it!

  • it 's more easy install linux ....

  • best ads are informative. and something we use. its not us your selling to. it our noob friends well tell to use it.

  • You should make a review of AROS and eComStation, it would be fun!

Could you guys also make a segment about grid computing or there is already one?

What about OpenBSD, any though about it?

  • @shotgun2197 @piratebrido the ability to put it on a usb thumbdrive and run it anywhere without installing and without leaving traces in the windows registry or the appdata folder.

  • @qurben Thanks for clarifying.

  • Yeah, what does Snubs mean by portable?

  • @shotgun2197 @piratebrido it runs purely on a usb stick and keeps all the app data in folders on that mem stick so it leaves no traces on the computer and keeps all settings on the stick so you can keep settings all the time

  • May i ask what she means by portable?

  • She has amazing tits.

  • @Quicksplint true but rube and disrespectful >:/

  • @09fod *rude

  • @Quicksplint woops tyop :/

  • more tips

can u do a vid about hacking wifi quickly?

  • or you can just quit using windows..

  • boobs please :D

  • @RampagePC Dont be disrespectful!

  • GAH! You guys should have used the term IT Ninja before i ordered my new biz. cards

  • ah this is kinda fail ,,,buy an extra widescreen monitor why not?

  • @nicu619 Problem is if you have the money.

  • Also for the security hackers.. check out info XenClient XT.

Baremetal VMs with uber security !!

And no I dont work for citrix but just an IT admin that has to deal with (think about) hackers :-)

  • Um VMs are easy... just downloadn vmplayer.

Windows can be virtualized and played by most anything - so can Linux.

OSX bites donnkey ballz because it ties itself to an EFI and HCL setup.

So if you're playing windows on OSX - thats an innovation/collaboration of Windows and vendors - and NOT because of OSX - just remember that.

PS - HAK5 opinion on VDI &Cloud security ?! Corps might now use things like Citrix Cloud bridge. I wonder what attention that is bringing from security watchers?!

  • Have tbh, I lold IRL at the concept of an ad break during a four minute video. xD

  • @Anobrax rev3 provides lots of content, not just this 4 min clip on youtube. they need to pay the bills

  • @conorucd Yeah I know, but it's still funny to hear "we'll be back right after the break" during a four minute video. xD

  • @Anobrax meh, free good content is worth it imo

  • id tap that

  • Apparently, there's also a less known program for nVidia cards. I doubt it's for much newer cards than the 8xxx series, since I only found out about it when I installed XP SP3 on my laptop which has an 8200GM card. This program, called nVidia nView, is actually a really good one. Definitely not the best, but for some low powered systems, it'd work perfect. And as always, love the show!

  • I love this, it was one of my favorite features in Ubuntu and I've always wanted the same feature in Windows. (You should put the links in the description)

  • Shannon <3

    Great Hak tip..

    love the idea

    you guys rock

  • Very handy for playing games at work. See boss coming around the corner? no need to quit your game. Switch desktops!

BTW. When will Shannon ever do a show in a bikini?. Also, am I the only one who thinks she looks like Dora the explorer with huge boobs?.

  • I love this hack tips =)

  • I'm happy with one desktop... it's 1280x1024, all I really need.

  • @CJCA915 I'am running with 4 times 1600x600, and some times I would need more ... :D

  • @vlmath314 Well, I'm only working in one program at a time, sure I may have many open, but I'm only using one at any particular moment... so I just minimize the ones I'm not using.

  • @CJCA915 For my "work" (scientific study in Lausanne - CH), I have to work with a lot of maximized programs at the same time ^^

And I have always a web desktop for fun

  • @vlmath314 I'm a freelance CG artist.

  • @vlmath314 However, I'm majoring in Computer Technology.

  • ad starts at 2:30

    ends at 3:11

  • First.

OT: You guys should totally do a video on the Haiku OS Project.

  • @aidenscool09 Actually Shannon did a great video on the Haiku OS Project just a few weeks ago. See fgyPr0J9S-M
