microsoft made linux as its first major OS and microsoft created in windows, they probably found a way to incorporate a virtual desktop through all the soft code.
Is there a program which can also modify the desktop icons shown? I would like to have a work desktop with different shortcuts then the normal one not only with different opened applications.
Or did I just not see how to do it with the 3 suggested ones?
@shotgun2197@piratebrido the ability to put it on a usb thumbdrive and run it anywhere without installing and without leaving traces in the windows registry or the appdata folder.
@shotgun2197@piratebrido it runs purely on a usb stick and keeps all the app data in folders on that mem stick so it leaves no traces on the computer and keeps all settings on the stick so you can keep settings all the time
Windows can be virtualized and played by most anything - so can Linux.
OSX bites donnkey ballz because it ties itself to an EFI and HCL setup.
So if you're playing windows on OSX - thats an innovation/collaboration of Windows and vendors - and NOT because of OSX - just remember that.
PS - HAK5 opinion on VDI &Cloud security ?! Corps might now use things like Citrix Cloud bridge. I wonder what attention that is bringing from security watchers?!
Apparently, there's also a less known program for nVidia cards. I doubt it's for much newer cards than the 8xxx series, since I only found out about it when I installed XP SP3 on my laptop which has an 8200GM card. This program, called nVidia nView, is actually a really good one. Definitely not the best, but for some low powered systems, it'd work perfect. And as always, love the show!
I love this, it was one of my favorite features in Ubuntu and I've always wanted the same feature in Windows. (You should put the links in the description)
@vlmath314 Well, I'm only working in one program at a time, sure I may have many open, but I'm only using one at any particular moment... so I just minimize the ones I'm not using.
How do these affect battery life?
I was using DeskSpace but it was a battery-killer :(
Currently using mDesktop but I'm less than satisfied with its performance.
