@TheA13000 - It's all about accessibility. Not only would the game have to introduce the player to the concept of Space Marines, but then it'd have to explain what the Deathwatch is on top of that. Still, if they wanted to use an accessible chapter, they could had a couple others options - the Imperial Fists and the Crimson Fists come to mind. They don't have odd schticks that'd give the wrong impression, like the Blood Angels' black rage or the wulfen trait in the Space Wolves, etc.

That's a good point, but even non-psykers would have noticed it. There's no way that they would have missed a pariah gene in a space marine. Plus, all the odd-boyz would have been much easier. Especially on hard, hehe.

@Crowende Pysker powers?  He is resistant to Chaos/Psyker powers. That tells me he has the Pariah gene.

FYI, that gene makes a human into an anti-psyker. Psychic powers either do nothing, or are very weak against you.

It also means you can be turned into a Necron Pariah by the Necrons.

@SmallChildrenProduct Given that a whole 2/3 of the other space marine chapters in the galaxy can trace their gene seed back to Robute Guilleman... it's quite possible your order would have that effect.

Course you have to remember who Leandros is as person. He is utterly devoted to the Codex Astartes & won't accept compromise.

Put simply Leandros has a lot of devotion but little common sense.

The track's epic, but I gotta admit, Leandros did nothing wrong. He even called in the inquisition instead of just puting a bolt through Titus' head. I mean, Captain indeed must be stained by warp in some way.

Im not saying your wrong but Leandros was stupid to do that one the only chance of Titus being with chaos is look at Dawn Of War Winter Assault it involved The Ultramarines right with a titan maybe the chaos got on Titus. maybe he was in the game but at the time just a normal space marine and look at Gabriel from Dawn Of War he got chaos on him but resist the touch right so maybe Titus has a strong resist to chaos.

The only way this game could have been better is if they chose a chapter that hasn't been completely overdone already (i.e. SALAMANDERS, WHITE SCARS, IMPERIAL FISTS, LITERALLY ANY CHAPTER OTHER THAN THE ULTRAMARINES OR BLOOD ANGELS).

@herrCaek The Ultramarines are the most iconic of the Astartes, plus they've actually never been done before in a video game (frickin' Blood Ravens).

I think Relic should release some DLC campaigns for other Chapters, or even some Chaos ones. That could be awesome.

@ClockworkPirate Never have been in a game? What about Chaos Gate, Final Liberation, WH40K Squad Command? In DOW: Winter Assault they also feature in a campaign. And you could play Ultramarines in dow multiplayer since the first DOW and basically was forced to do so, considering that Space Marines faction is a basic codex chapter.

It's frustrating that most media of WH40K apart from books features Ultramarines. I think it is why they are hated by some Warhammer 40.000 fans, including me.

@shadow46and2 Maybe I just haven't been in the hobby long enough (I haven't played the games you mentioned, besides Winter Assault a bit), but I really don't have a problem with the Ultramarines. I like the whole Romanesque motif, and IMO gold on blue looks really good.

I mean, other Chapters are fun, but sticking with the most generic one wasn't a bad choice.
