@GrumpyxXpunkXx Well it depends. Most bin cages have a larger area of floor space than traditional hamster cages. So they might require more bedding, but I wouldn't call it a waste. :)
you should have another robo incase yours get lonely but i'm sure you play with it alot cause you're such a good owner with such a great cage, but then again they could fight but lol!
Hey, great video but i have to ask u something. Do you think a robo dwarf hamster would be suitable in a cage that has 1 centimetre gaps in between the bars, and would they mind being in a cage that a syrian hamster has once lived in? please reply!
@SohnVids I definitely would not put a robo hamster in a cage with 1 cm gaps. They can squeeze through some incredibly small spaces. The fact that another hamster used it before shouldn't be a problem as long as the cage is cleaned out well. But yeah, with 1 cm gaps, you might have a missing robo hamster!
i mde a bin cage for my 3 rats. i took a large bin and cut the entire front off then covered it with chicken wire exept for a certain space where i took a wire cube thing and made a door. i also cut a square in the bin top.then i took a smaller bin and cut a square in the bottem and glued and taped it to the top of the lager bin, makin the 2 squares match up instead of leaving the top on i did the same thing a did with the front of the large bin. i filled it with thier stuff and it twas done! :3
what if i get a winter white dwarf hamster and a russian dwarf hamsteer will either one of them fit in abin and if so if i have toliet paper rolls and paper towels can they fit in them? please reply back!
@hamstersarecute123 I've never had those kinds of hamsters, but considering how small they are, I think they would do fine in a bin cage and they should be able to fit in toilet paper rolls :)
@SamaraAriella Thanks! A glass aquarium would work, but hamsters will sometimes chew the silicone that seals the glass panels together in the corners. Just be sure it's well ventilated on top (no aquarium hoods)!
I took 4 twisty ties & twisted them together to make 2 long ones. I poked 2 sets of holes in the bin to loop the ties thru. I looped them thru the holes, then slid the water bottle in, & tightened/loosened the loops til they were just right. I duct taped down the ties on the outside to keep them in place permanently. I hope that helps! I have pictures with instructions but Youtube won't let me post the link. I can make a video later when I have time!
I'm actually thinking about making a one from a 105 qt or larger using two Grill-O-Sheets in the lid (leaving a strip of the lid intact between the two for stability) for the Robo as she is by far the busiest little ham I've ever seen, lol.
This might be the most useful thing I've ever found on YouTube. I made two of these bin cages after watching this. One for my Robo and one for my Winter White. The Grill-O-Sheet was sheer genious! I had no idea such a product existed so thanks for speculating on a prior comment that you bought them at Lowes. Awesome idea. Thank you. :D
@SuperHamsterLady Should be, as long as the bin is longer than it is tall. I would put A LOT of ventilation holes on the lid and around the top of the bin to make sure that Tiny doesn't get stuffy, being long haired and all.
@TaipanInsanityVenom I traced the shape of the Grill-O-Sheet and then cut it out with a strong pair of hardware scissors. Had to poke a hole first to have a starting point to cut from.
@TaipanInsanityVenom Thanks! The little blue thing in the corner is a ceramic bath house. I got it at Petsmart. They also have bath dust to use with it. The other two houses came from Petco.
VERY NICE AND VERY HELPFUL :)

Why do you need to put a lid in it?
sdoieqwfjhweoiuhasdo 2 months ago
@sdoieqwfjhweoiuhasdo Keeps the cage darker on the inside, keeps things from falling in, and just provides a *little* more security overall.

The cage is nearly identical to the one I have. However, I used wire mesh because I couldn't find any Grill-O-Sheet in England.
