& just so everyone can stop bothering me i say 'alternative' rather than 'indie' because try explaining 'indie' to someone who has associated 'indie' with independent labels-which technically they are, but not that people here care about technicalities(but still). So I say 'alternative' i.e.different, doesn't conform. Indie is fine coloquially but 'alternative' is best suited to a wider range

Indie is an abbrieviation for independent label , so technically even brittney spears could be of 'indie' genre if she was part of an independent label- instead use the term alternative, meaning different. And I also hate the elitests who say this to be 'real' music. Whatever feels 'real' to you is 'real music'.
