  • dude.... just, dude.. :)

  • SHRED!!!!

  • Space, breathing, soul ,technical virtuosity, it's all there. Gypsy jazz is about taking the melody and WORKING it. Listen to Django and tell me HE didn't improvise. Gotta agree, however, ze interview did not need to be zere. :)

  • I often heard Joscho Stephan and had some workshopos with him. He is a great musician, indeed ...

  • ruend the whole song

  • @cobycracker NO NO TRY AGAIN. DUNCE.

  • too fast

  • @cobycracker NO NO, TRY AGAIN. DUNCE.

  • @AlyssaLivesHere ???what are you talking about???

  • Bass players never get any respect.

  • unnecessary interview in the middle, kinda kills it

  • master

  • Bravo!!!

  • I like the interview, but in THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG???

  • Joscho, Dikuno Schneeberger and Wawau Adler are incredible perfect in what they do!

  • Bravissimo,bella performance!!!!!

    Edgar

  • beautiful, I can feel django =)

  • #gypsyjazz

  • WOW GREAT

  • he even finds time to adjust his glasses!

  • Wonderful stuff, I can only dream of ever playing like that.

  • Joscho gehört zum allerobersten Segment der Gitarristen. Alles passt: Technik, Timing und nicht zu vergessen -Humor!

  • tell me if iam wrong but i hear some Dickey Betts in his playing? the style. Not that iam saying that Dickey Betts was his influence

  • yeaaah yeaah quickly!!

  • Yep, I'd say he knows a lick or to there, lol ;)

  • You are magnifico

  • Fuckin' awesome

  • fuckin talent

  • how come this guy never plays in concert with the other guys (debarre, lagrene, jimmy&stochelo, etc).

  • because hes not french.hes german

  • Fantastic stuff!

  • 0o.

  • can't get enough of it!

  • awsesome

  • u r my fauvorite guitarist!!

  • not django? he kinda paved the way for joscho

  • how bad the guy in the back whants to be in the video lol

  • Thats greatt!!!

  • great

  • and his modesty on stage is above comments!!! look how his father is looking at him sometimes.. so proud that his son overflies what people can understand about swingmanouche.. NO COMMENTS....

  • fuckin' bass player too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!woow

  • Right, the bassist is badass. :-)

  • In my book he's up there w/ Bireli

  • Does ANYONE even QUESTION this man's soul and passion after viewing this clip? look at his enthusiasm, the joy on his face. just because this man is on a different cosmic level from us mere mortals (i.e. his technical proficiency being otherworldly) should not be held against him and anyone who dismisses this genius-savant just BECAUSE of his technical proficiency misses the point. He weds the passion WITH the proficiency. it's mind-shattering in its competencey and too much for SOME to fathom!!

  • very well said!

  • absolutely true...real passion for music...

  • @tubular213 what you meant to say tubular213, is death to all jazz snobs. you see, their on a different level than you and i. they've learned how to be soulful from their professors and the struggles of having people hating them all their lives. don't hate, appreciate!!

  • @rexious5 good point here, but to me it seems like this guy represents the academic extreme of gypsy jazz with his refined technicality. it sounds like he could be playing a transcribed solo, and less like hes making it up spontaneously

  • @tubular213 i wouldnt question his technical proficiency obviously, but where's the space, where's the breathing, where's the melody? In those areas, this guy doesn't even compare to Django. call me a snob if you want, but my mind is not shattered

  • @tubular213 the second a man starts talking about technique is proof that he's fresh out of ideas~ hoagy carmichael

  • @tubular213 This man has no soul because he sold it to the devel in exchange for playign the guitar like Django.

  • Maybe as close to Django as anyone can get! Great execution of the Gypsy jazz!

  • Django! thanks, all there are on youtube is the chet atkins take on the song. a breath of fresh air. 5 stars thanks

  • incredible...

the lick at 2min17 my brain simply cannot understand

  • most germans speak mediocre english for that matter (which is perferctly okay since they're german, not english :-) vocal sound production in english is somehow very different from that in german.i speak both english and german as 2nd languages and noticed how my english pronunciation suffers badly when switching from german to english. then again: in the time it would take me to play half as good as Joscho i could probably learn chinese, russian, swahili and 10 other languages

  • best guitaring ever tbh cant stop watching it

  • Servus Peter,absoluter Wahnsinn ! oder ?

    Gruß Joe

  • If I have one complaint about Joscho's video's, its that you never see the other two guys - there's some pretty good bass work there and would have been nice to see him.

  • I agree with you, there.

  • Superb - excellent - BRAVO!

    Gary Hart

    Zephyrhills, Florida

  • Joscho Stephan Rocks !

  • Sweet stuff, this is how Django Reinhardt would've played this song~

  • whouuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!

  • I don't care for this paticular song played in this style, but I give you 10 stars for skill and talent.

  • LIES!

  • tu es vraiment un gros con.

  • va te faire enculer

  • Whao. It's a killer !

  • omg take it easy holy shit

  • incredible. he's really good!

  • that lick after the chromatic ascent at 0.54 is just so tasty, can't get enough of it. Spoke to him once, seemed to be a genuinely nice guy

  • lovin it

  • Amazing guitarist! He's a great combination of Django and Chet Atkins.

  • dude you are on fire !!!! I love that stuff man...how long you been playing?

  • as far as I know, Joscho starts playing guitar when he was 6 years old - his teacher at the music school is a very good classic and flamenco guitar player

  • This guy is awesome as well as the bassman!

    nice improvision!

  • dammit he is SOOOOOOOO good hahaha i keep watching this vid!! he's fucking AMAZING!! does anyone know any one better?? cos he might be genuinely the BEST and if any one says petrucci im gonna cyber slap them cos yeah he's ace but no WAY could he do that on an acoustic hahahaha

  • Technically you won't see many better players - you're lucky if you ever see Joscho make a mistake. I don't think his emotive range is quite there yet, but you can't argue with those fingers... he is a MACHINE, and he plays with style, flair, and a smile that shows he genuinely loves it. Amazing.

  • @thenickanator

tommy emmanuel's better i think(just my opinion obviously)

though probably not in this style

  • i've not checked him out tbh but if he can play better than this dude he must be some kind of demi god so i shall go and so immmediately...hopefully he has vids on youtube

  • @agar101. You cant compare those 2 guitar players. 2 whole different styles

  • Vintage Joscho. Oh yes. This guy's got some major skills.

    Great jam.

  • *starts a slow clap* fantastic...just fantastic

  • nice!..and how about a rap for mr bassman!

  • Joscho:"And on bass, the beautiful Max Schaff!"

  • Thanks, Joscho~! As always... TOP NOTCH! You are in a class all your own!

    Keep posting and inspiring us!

  • amazin!!!!

  • wow!! amazing :| :)

  • Very Django. bravo.

  • awesome man!

  • SUPERLATIVO

  • prefiero a chet atkins.

  • fantastic!

  • amazing skill

  • very very nice

  • You are the reincarnation of Django...Just wonderful

do you have a CD ....Hope so

  • his live cd is excellent; it has mister sandman on it.

  • amazing guitarist. and i have heard many !
