the 4th battle where u get tanks is the hardest, even tho its not that hard either. I played the hell out of this as a kid, loved the music.

OMG this is an awsome find for me.I always knew of & played all the Dune & CnC for PS1 & PC but I never knew there was a Dune for my Genesis!! I love Westwood & Sega so this is great!! The next 2 games I want for collection now are CnC for Sega Saturn & this for Genesis!! Catn wait! :D

Is the megadrive version any good. Most RTS games are awful on home consoles so I was wondering wheather this one or the DOS one?

Playing an emulator is just the same. It`s kinda like original gameplay but it`s just not like that. When you`re plugging console in your TV, adjusting channel search via analog antenna cable, putting in cartridge turning console on and grabbing an old controller, it`s just a very, very special feeling.

@howitzergun well im not watching tv and i dont even have one so emulator is fine with me,i remember how i traded my cartridges all the time when i wanted to play something new,with an emulator that problem is gone

Well, it`s just my opinion, but I think that those games must be played as they was build.

If you know what I want to say. For example, if Dune was released for SEGA, I consider that it must be played on SEGA console. For me emulators are just fake.

@howitzergun @rot105and Oh, c'mon guys I know it's the NOSTALGIA that is after you! Not actually the gameplay or the feeling you know... I play the emulators and even with my fave game I got bored after 20min, but I won't play more on a real console either. You should get outside and seek the new feelings that are around you...my guess is that you are grown up men now and should be of better use to the humankind. You've changed, but the games are still the same (or even got worse lately, hehe)

@howitzergun Emulators are not fake. They're much handier and allow you to play almost every game that has been made for the respective console. For example where I lived you couldn't just go out and find a game like D&D: WotES. Ebay didn't exist back then either, and if it did exist I can only imagine how much they'd charge for... any game, for that matter. If I ever had the choice I'd play the game on console but emulators are just as good since getting used to keyboard is no big deal, really.

With all due respect your given example does not fit the choice in question. The question should rather be "why would I make love to a real girl if I can make love to a genetically modified girl grown from a toe-nail in a Tleilaxian vat that can change eyes, hair and skin colour and body constitution by will alone in accordance with my desires?" Really, WHY?

Just google "genesis emulator" for the program to run these games. I use a program called fusion and have no issues.

The games you can get from places like romnation. Just google "genesis rom" and you should find plenty of places that provide them.

I remember that controling the units whith a mouse on the PC was hard i cant just imagine to play this game whith a gamepad.

The game actually plays really well, I popped it in a few weeks ago and sure it doesn't compare to modern games control wise, a bit slow, but it's not that bad.

I can't figure out which versions are which. Is this the same game as Dune on the PC released in 1992? it's obviously older than Dune 2000... and the Dreamcatcher PC version of Dune. Hmmmm
