The sad thing is,a lot of larger thrift store chains now do their pricing on some items from prices researched on Ebay, pawn shops do as well. Some of the prices they ask are pretty high, the best bet is still garage sales. Often You can get pretty decent deals on VHS ans Beta tapes,and even good decks,and i still sometimes find people selling 8-track taps as well.Childrens stuff,especially videos and clothes are practically available by the armload! She has the right idea about selling lots.

BTW I have a much better tip for readers: collect old LEGO to sell. Star Wars, sculptures and old stuff, detailed modular houses. I sold one set yesterday for $700 I bought new for like $60.

For future reference if you need to describe Steampunk I like to use "Modern alternative fashion mixed with 19th century science fiction". Think of movies like The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or The Time Machine. Hope that helps.

Ebay helps individuals and small business make a living. still plenty of auctions on ebay. buy it now allows quick sale. weird stuff will sell on ebay too because there are millions of lookers. It's "american" to be entrepreneurial. If you buy cheap at thrift store, they get rid of stuff so it's good for them too.

actually I think Auction is more greedy in a sense because some people become crazy when bidding (has happened to me a few times) some people go in a bidding frenzy when you can buy it much cheaper. nothing wrong with selling stuff from the thrift store I sometimes buy (probably thrift store items from ebay too) because my szie can be hard to find

im gonna throw you a bone. i dont know if you know alot about books but the left behind series of books(there are 12 of them) is an excellent item when sold as a lot. you can often find the books for .25 cents to a dollar a book at garage sales and you can get 35-40 dollars out of a complete set on ebay. there are other good book series that sell well when complete like the lemmony snickets books.

I start a lot of auctions out at .99 some get up there pretty good, some I just let go at .99 cents for good rating purposes, and to get rid of item, that i've tried selling several times before.. @LaTootie979 research comparable prices on ebay, check "completed listings" to see. for fast money and sale, use buy it now. for best price, use 10 day auction so it gets lots of views. take good photos or price will be low. describe items well, for clothes make sure to include size.

Just came across your vid... Here's a weird one... I spent 5 dollars on a 1 year subscription of W magazine and profited about $200.00 on eBay. The Kim Kardashian cover can fetch over $100.00 I sold mine for $75.00 and the others 20-30 dollars depending who's on the cover. As an artist I collect and build steam punk items for house decorations, if it looks like edward scissorhands built it I'm buying it lol... cool vids you have great tips. :)

I'm a buyer of yarn lots! To buy yarn new it's really expensive! Another thing you can do is buy mill-ends and sell them. Caron will not give you a choice of color. It's a grab bag. When I need a certain color, I will find it in eBay.
