@arup02 there are quite a few opengl extensions for high end next gen stuff (for example bindless graphics).. they will only work on nvidia cards. For developers, nvidia is much nicer. For the average gamer.. it probably doesn't make much difference

we have limited resources and cannot test the software on many platforms with many different graphics cards. So it works on some platforms with Nvidia cards (8800GTS or more), but not on ATI cards.

@WhiplashDaemon They have limited resources, so I expect it'll be unlikely. Though some of the source is open (BSD) and well documented (theses), so porting shouldn't be an issue if those skilled enough to do so are interested (I think).
