The Jews were not given "land that wasn't theirs", Israel was a Jewish state for THOUSANDS OF YEARS before the Romans colonized it, there are massive amounts of archaeological and historical evidence proving that there was a Jewish civilziation in what is now Israel, millenia before london and paris even existed Jerusalem was the capital of the Jewish nation.

Then the kingdom split into Israel and Judah. Judah finally fell to Babylon in 586 BC. The next Jewish kingdom (the Hasomean) lasted for just 100 years. So that's a grand total of just over 500 years before the Romans showed up and destroyed the Temple for the last time.

By the standard of property records, the land had been controlled by Ottomans (Turks) and others for centuries; it was ceded to the British; the British then divided it, at that point it legally became theirs. By the standard of squatter's rights, well the Jews that became Israelis had been there in large numbers for quite a while. By the standard of history, Jewish history in Israel goes back at least 3500 years. Muslims just 1400.
You need to learn more about the history of the Middle East. The land is not Palestinian or Arab land. The Arabs have no legitimate claim on that land, whereas Israel has iron-clad rights and claims to all the land from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River, not only from a historical perspective, but also from international law. Google the San Remo Conference of 1920-22 to learn more about it.
