Thousands were not killed, maybe hundreds of terrorist counter-revolutionaries, and Batista military killers, but that's about the extent. Che said he was not an economist, but they were still able to maintain and grow, which is why they are still in comfortable power, with the vast majority of the country not wanting to end communist rule. From my understanding, right wing radio and cable having been having a field day with Obama. The President has been called every name in the book, including Fox and other outlets portraying the President as a pervert, alleging he inappropriately looked at a young women. My father was a MP for the Batista Army. He was escorting a bus with civilians because the rebels would shoot the buses, trying to paralize the transit system. His jeep was ambushed by rebels and all soldiers in it were wounded and excecuted except my father. My father survived because he felt the steel of the gun being pointed to his head, and at a last second moved his head and was shot in the jaw instead. He was left for dead.

The old Che poster always reminded me of a similar looking poster of Jim Morrison. And I always thought a good portion of the adoration of Che was that he was good looking and "hip" (in the 60s it was oh-so hip to be considered a "revolutionary").
So...we have Che who was a Stalinist and a flat-out murderer for Castro, and Morrison, a drunk and heroin addict (albeit handsome) who basically killed himself.
No surprise to me that it's anti-establishment scum like this that the Left adores.

- Che detested the violence and made that clear in a number of speeches.
- Had nothing to do with the labor force or "secret police." held no position to do so.

-Soviet Union & Nazi Germany were allies before 1941.
-they divided Europe between themselves. -Gestapo & NKVD traded unwanted persons
-Soviet Union provided Nazi Germany with oil, supplies, and military training
-Soviet Union & Nazi Germany attacked and divided Poland. They held a victory parade in Brest-Litovsk.
Plus all the "regular" activities of the Soviet Union - the Ukrainian genocide in the 30's, the killing fields, the Katyn mass murder, pogroms et cetera.

Sorry, wrong again. The Non-aggression pact was similar to the ones signed with France and Britain, and were worthless, which is why the red army was ready when the Nazi's came. I am sure there is video on here of the British PM and the French both celebrating what they thought was an effort to avert war. Che was a Stalinist to the core. He personally ordered the execution of thousands of people. He admitted to it at least twice, the last time being before he was executed and left to rot for his heinous crimes. There were plenty of eyewitnesses as well - Luis Ortega, a Cuban journalist for example. Che also manages to demolish the perfectly good Cuban economy within months, bringing it down to ruins.

Thousands were not killed, maybe hundreds of terrorist counter-revolutionaries, and Batista military killers, but that's about the extent. Che said he was not an economist, but they were still able to maintain and grow, which is why they are still in comfortable power, with the vast majority of the country not wanting to end communist rule. Then again, the US executes hundreds every year since the day it was created, some years tens of thousands in imperialist wars. Americans are the terrorists.

Che made a famous speech in Algeria where he criticized Stalinist tactics and policies that pissed the USSR off, so no he was not a Stalinist. He also did not destroy the Cuban economy, the united states made sure that happened and it took the USSR to save them, but even today they are surviving just fine. 3 hurricanes this year, and only a few people dies; why? because of socialist principles and plans which kept the population safe.
