Try download Ubuntu 8.04 and all is there like compiz fusion, dont worry installing ubuntu. It will make partition once it detect other OS. then change everything on Preferences>>appearance... try it all and be amazed! i think this comment will help the NOOBS!
just search for a wiki :) there's full of them on the net :P we would need to know your video board, your ubuntu release etc and it takes way too much to wrte a guide on how to do it ... yutube comments just won't be enough :)
how hard is it for a person to install compiz fusion? how long did it take you? I wish it would have a button so you can just download it but instead you have to put computer codes:(( i wish they could make it easy for non computer experts like me:(
7.10 is supposed to have better and new drivers (along with the old ones which concluded some ATI drivers that worked as well). Are you sure you've chosen the correct driver?
I would suggest you visit the Ubuntu forums once, or the chat for that matter. The must have the right drivers. And have you installed 7.10? (if you are afraid that it won't work I would try and ask on the forum if the 7.10 version has ATI drivers included so you can be sure).
I'm using now 7.04, shortly 7.10, and I have a Gefroce 4 mx, can run all without any problems. (Geforce 4mx is based on Geforce 2). And I sure that could run with some of the first 3d graphic cards. You only need an OpenGL 1.0 card, I think.
How did you get compiz (and 3d-support in general) to work with that board? I have the same one and there seems to be a bug related to agp which prevents exactly that.
Sexy work dude...
I just want to know from where did U get THAT Wallpaper from.. the same one that you are using as your Pic on youtube..

Can I just run ubunta 7.10 off a CD by booting to it and not put it on my computer?
I don't want to mess up my XP Pro.

Yes, you can start ubuntu form cd-rom. You must download ubuntu cd-desktop and reboot your operation system with a cd in to your pc.
But with "live cd desktop" you can't use 3D desktop and more other grafich application. Also your ubuntu will be very slow.
You can use this cd-desktop for learn most ubuntu's commands.
BYE !!!

why don't you make a dual boot ? create a separate partition for ubuntu and a swap and there you go :)

very cool.. but next time hold the camera still. I like the part where you run MS Windows in a window.

It's very hard to watch, at least set the camera on a chair or something. Also, what software are you using? Such as to run windows? Is that VMware?

I use a mobile phone for this orrible video. To run windows I use Virtualbox... I think that it is better than VmWare!

Do you always use Ubuntu? Are you pro on linux? When I installed Kubuntu with Beryl wasn't good. Too many problems.
I like Ubuntu but I never used it.

Ubuntu is the same of kubuntu but is with the Gnome Desktop, not with the Kde Desktop.
I think that the Guzzly Gibbon version (7.10) is very good.
There is only one problem with Ubuntu: it and ati radeon's driver have some problem...
But they are little problems (I use a ati radeon). Bye!

I have chosen the ATI driver but they don't run correctly.
I had to install the resctricted drivers fglrx, compiz and speeding 3d work, the only problems are for instance when I record a video desktop.
I am unable to install the ATI drivers correctly, despite having followed the numerous guides that I found in the network

If you look long enough you can find Drivers that work better then the drivers Gutsy Gibbon installs automatically.
