  • Alex looks like an Oompa Loompa

  • well i like this song

  • VH at their worst

  • I looked this up out of morbid curiosity, and I gotta say: "Jesus, what the fuck were they THINKING?" Glad they got Diamond Dave back.

  • garbage , i try to forget gary cherone was in vh

  • the chorus and solo are badass... and i'll tell you why

    1. if michael anthony made the chorus sound great (like every song)

    2. you know eddie makes the best solos

    3. its better than rebecca black

  • Absolutely mega fuckin' awesome song!!!! the video is stupid though. I totally agree that this song, by itself, totally and completely destroys anything new from the "new Roth era!!!!!! Makes one wonder in what direction the band would have went if they had made a 2nd album with Cherone?

  • I´ve never liked van halen III and i never will ,this is so bad.I dont know what Eddie & Alex where thinking when they hired gary cherone as their new lead singer.Too me it sounds to much like Extreme rather than it sounds like van halen.

  • For me its not the song that's bad (well, lyrically yeah lolol) but the video is a joke!

  • I love VH and extreme and I think Gary sounds a Lot like Sammy!

  • the best album song, it would be better if sammy sings this tune, its one of the van halens comercials best hits, ... no argue

  • Did Ed dress like that for a bet?

  • van halen touring with kool and the gang.... what a freaking joke... this has roth written all over it.

bottom line is VH became big only because of sammy..... sammy for president

  • @imjotoboy1 seriously? SERIOUSLY? van halen has two diamond albums (10 million or more copies sold). you know who the singer is on those albums? David. Lee. Roth.

  • This was the ONLY good song on this whole album. I remember when it was released, and I heard this song on the radio. Hence, being the one reason I bought it. :(

  • If someone told me that this was a Van Halen side project then I would be like this is GREAT! Since it was a VH song it only makes it a Good song on a mediocre at best album. Good for a first release (for bait) single until you listen to the whole album. Some of those Sammy Hagar VH albums were not great either.

  • I liked this record. It was different but still had Ed and Al pounding it out. "Year to the Day" was a masterpiece of guitar virtuosity. All the haters can drink a pint of piss. This album did poorly because most VH fans are white trash goons who want songs about getting wasted and fucking. Well... the new record is coming out and Dave, after decades of living life and growing up, is writing lyrics with meaning. Uh oh... can VH fans handle it???

  • @DarthKazi You are so right, well said. I loved this album. Some songs actually brought a tear to my eye. 13 years later, I still listen too it.

  • thuumbs up if your going to see one of their concerts this summer

  • WTF IS ON EDDIES HEAD?

  • cherone doesnt belong...so glad Daves back

  • Gary Cherone is alright singer but terrible in Van Halen. Gary doesn't have the Van Halen spirit, he belongs in grunge.

  • @Icter2 Gary in grunge he was in the eighties band extreme before vh

  • This is a GREAT rocker. No matter the lead singer, it still kicks major ASS!

  • original songs written by eddie & gary are ok because there isn't anything else to compare them to. this song is alright. It certainly changed the way vh sounded. trying to cover previous songs by other singers is hard for anyone to do. vh maybe should have done a couple more albums with mr. cherone to see where it might have gone. it would have challenged eddie to expand musically. cherone is a good singer and even a great singer with tunes like those of extreme.

  • I think Ed was just going for something different here. Ed doesn't make mistakes. Remember that.

  • @frimpit I think it was more Cherone. I like this song, but Cherone tried turning VH into U2 with more meaningful lyrics. Sammy and DLR basically wrote songs about chicks and good times. I think this album did poorly because it alienated a lot of VH fans.

  • This song would have been much better with Hagar singing.

  • don't care what anyone else says. this is one heck of a song. great job Eddie, and Alex. Gary, you were better with extreme.

  • Good song but Cherone didn't fit.

  • Oops I thought this was an Extreme video...I'll move on ;)

  • this is the best song with gary..

  • BEFORE YOU JUDGE HIM

    CHECK OUT EXTREME

    DON'T REPEAT MY MISGUIDED PREJUDICES

  • Eddie dressed so funny, the band has changed but finally it's Van Halen..

  • This album would have been so much better if it had a real engineer/producer behind it. I can't believe how you can hear the amp hum throughout the whole fuckin' thing. And there was hardly any type of low tone on any of the songs. It sounds like a deaf guy engineered it.

  • @thelordofhellaz You do know that Eddie himself was one of the engineers and producers for this album? I'm sure he had a purpose for any sound that you are criticizing. He is the professional here.

  • @jamesseven77 I know Eddie was the engineer/producer (even though Mike Post is listed, he really didn't do anything) of the album. Years of ear damaging live touring probably had more to do with the amp hum in the album more than anything else. I have two copies of this on CD because I thought the 1st one I bought had a problem because of the hum.......I was wrong.

  • At the time the new singer, the CD, the song and the video were wrong. I agree with the guy that said he was imitating Sammy Hagar.

  • Ah man, remove Van Halen from the band, and there it goes: we have a Van Halen.

  • this is just a great example of the style VH produces. there music has a Victory Chant to it. It just makes you feel good like your at the beach. this not for haters so dont put the video on morans

  • 19 Babacas que não gostam.

  • Wow now I remember the reason why VH III has been buried at the bottom of my CD collection.

  • gary cherone trying way to hard to b cool in this vid gives me douche chills. even worse was his faggy stage antics on this tour

  • The only song i liked from this album

  • This, by itself destroys anything new..... from the new 'Roth Era'

  • This is better than that train wreck they just put out with Roth.

  • I feel like Cherone is trying to mimic Sammy Hagar in this. He doesn't sound anything like he does in Extreme.

  • What a mess.

  • Worst song ever.

  • what a mess

  • I'm an Extreme fan, and I LOVE Gary Cherone, But he was the worst thing to ever happen to Van Halen. I'm glad to see that Extreme has been back together for years, and Van Halen getting Roth back. c:

  • How can this crap have 208 likes and only 13 dislikes? This is a smooshed together lazy Extreme and Van Halen that makes absolutely no sense. The only reason I am checking it out is the anouncement that Van Halen is having a half arsed reunion without Michael Anthony... Now I understand why they invited Diamond Dave back. It's crap like this!!!

  • @iAmBLINKY5150 They should really invite Sammy H back!!!!!

  • @craigslistbusiness no sammy sucks

  • This shit is terrible. They ran out of creativity and in Eddie's case - SANITY before this album was written.

  • Comment removed

  • Logically, I can't explain it, but this is my favorite VH song ever!

  • This not not VH. This sucks total ass. Cherone was terrible, Hagar was ok, at best. Roth is the man, now just bring back Michael Anthony and the band will be complete again. Eddie needs to get over whatever complex he has had the last 25 fucking years. Enough drama Eddie.

  • This wasn't that bad of a song! I liked it alot when it came out on Spring of 1998. See i was thirteen & I remember it vividly--- sad to say when I had the CD given to me I did NOT like the remainder of the album... (heh-heh)

  • Extreme...Boone Bullshit...Pile of crap...LMAO...Bad choice of singer ...Roth & Hagar ..Fuckin Rock..Fact...!!!!!!!

  • @funkyt35 is the song bad or the singer?

  • @Gulldreggen song is bad...gary is a really good singer. just trying to be to much like sammy...probably not by his choice

  • GOOD TIMES definitely a COOL SONG!

  • I like the video.

  • I don't care what anyone says. This song n video kick ass. As long as Ed's on guitar and Alex is on the drums, it's always going to be good more or less. That's just my opinion anyways.

  • this isnt as good as the roth era but i think its better then the haggar era

  • this ant vh or that ant tha singer

  • I dont care if Pat Boone is the singer make a new fuckin album

  • @budleeish Just 4 more days and you can have your face melted again!

  • @budleeish

The new album is out. It rocks.DLR Van Halen

  • @budleeish Oh the Boonster would rock!

  • Comment removed

  • luv the song, but seriously cherone was like a duck out of water

  • van halen fans piss me off this could of been years of great van halen music BASTARDS

  • One thing I will say: Cherone was the best singer Van Halen ever had

  • this is my second favorite VH album ... one of the few "break the mold" albums they had .... i really wish that more people would have "got" it both figuratively and literally

  • what the fuck was eddie van halen thinking putting gary in the band sorry dude u got nothing on van hagar i loved extreme go back to them

  • eddie is so cute!

  • I thought the album was called "Van Halen 3" because only Ed, Alex, and I have a copy of it.

  • @Jeffrey7500 I have the forth copy. lol

  • @Jeffrey7500 ahahahah

  • @Jeffrey7500 LMFAO NO SHIT.

  • @Jeffrey7500 Your comment is fantastic.

  • This is probably the only Van halen Album that I absolutley hate. And its not because of the singer or the rest of the band. This is just a bad fit from the begining.

  • what?............. ed is the king of electric RR guitar and al is the king of RR drums. they are getting old man, they can't stay 25 years old forever. give it a rest.

  • fuck cherone

  • Pretty good <Eddie,. You and your arrogance (and insanity) ran off 90% of the fans that were with you since 1977. How in the world did you do it? Stupid. Btw, you look like a crazy homeless person in this vid,......good job.

  • I love this song !!!!

  • Yucky. I like to pretend like this never happened.

  • But It DID happen,@centerforce2. Just like Wolfgang replacing Mike. My timeline for VH ended in '04,anyway. I'm just happy for that 26 yr. run. THAT is what I will always cherish as a longtime fan. Van Halen to & for me is Ed,Al,Mike,Roth,Sammy & Gary & that's IT. Hagar probably won't get a happy ending to his part of the VH history. If there is a FULL reunion (of ALL 3 singers & Mike) one day......I'm not holding breath for it. ED's stuck in HIS ways & rightfully so.... (cont.)

  • (cont.)....It's HIS & HIS BROTHER'S band. Anyone whose last name is NOT Van Halen (they've made it plainly & PAINFULLY clear on THAT fact) don't matter. So now I feel sorry for Roth (one fuck up/false move & he's OUTTA THERE). He's outnumbered & outvoted. The VH Bros. stick together & Wolf (just because...) will follow. I can't see a 65 (or 70) yr. old EVH touring with a 75 (or 80) yr. old Hagar touring together, I'm sorry. Hagar won't participate in anything VH without M.A. (cont.)

  • (cont.) anyway. How many years do they have left on this earth? Because of the Bros. Stubbornness, we might not get that "dream reunion". Hence: Hagar won't get a happy ending to his part of the VH saga. Nobody's gonna live to see 100 ( by then they'll all be old & movin' in walkers, canes or motorized wheelchairs, & what good is THAT?!!). The time is (pun intended) RIGHT NOW for them to do that. Gary is part of the history of VH whether the general public likes it or not. (cont.)

  • (cont.) Sammy had to be replaced by somebody. If they didn't want Roth back in '96, who was Hagar's ultimate replacement? Gary Cherone. "Van Halen III" is STILL an album by VAN HALEN. It's official. Wolf (nor Roth) won't be official until (if or when) the new album is out on the market &in the public's hands. 'Til then Ed & Rev. Al are moonlighting with stand-ins.

  • 1984 and before is Van Halen, Van Hagar is Great but not Van Halen completely different but still good, now this van halen 3 shouldnt of never existed its just terrible lol.

  • i wish i could get VH3 with all the vocals removed

  • great song and Gary Cherone is an awesome vocalist

  • @LipstickNeon U ON CRACK THE WHOLE CD SUCKED.

  • and yes, my ability to proof read is disappointing as well :)

  • VHIII definately was not the worst album ever. It is the most dissapointing album of the entire VH years and I hate this it has served as the last VH album all these years. There a lot of moments of absolute brilliance litter with too many "wtf?" moments. This song is the perfect example. I hate it and I love it. The harmonies and choruses throughout sound classic. The verses however...prog rock? wtf? I like Gary. Just not with Van Halen. I still like the video though.

  • Awesome!

  • I went to this concert in 98 not bad at house of blues in myrtle beach!!!

  • the red hot van halen peppers : ) i like it.

i love gary's voice just not right for vh .

sammy or dave for sure : )

  • Uds digan lo que digan...a mi me encanta gary cherone!!!

  • Van Hagar Forever!

  • I LOVE Hagar, but you have to admit that he was paying trib to Hagar here. He sounded almost like him. And, it's a freaking great song.

  • awsome and underrated song

  • @bangermccrusher Good call! I've always liked this song, myself....it's hard to get it out of my head after hearing it again.

  • One of the best collaborations ever!!

  • if i was eddy van halen i would wear my underwear under my pants

  • This is a great VH song, but, like most of VHIII, it wasn't designed for Gary's voice, something is missing there. It would look even better if Sammy was the lead singer, though.

  • terrible............

  • kickin it hard, Great job Gary, one of thier best!

  • this is my first time hearing anything from this album. It's good for 1998 I guess, when everything turned to shit. Better than what most bands in their generation were doing at this time. As always, Eddie never disappoints!

  • I'm a big fan of van halen, and honestly gary cherone is not all bad, i think he is out and people dont like him by some bad songs in VHIII

  • an ok song but Gary kinda sucks compared to David and Sammy. No wonder they kicked him out. They shoulda just kept both Dave and Mike Anthony, though Sammy was a pretty awesome replacement, too.

  • I WANT THIS ALBUM!!!!!!

  • @5150zac Pretty sure you can find it in the bargain bins cheap.

  • Are those P90 pickups on EVH's guitar? 2:43 to 2:48

  • @superbionicbatman Yes, the pickups are P90's.

  • Gary Cherone = Criss Angel

  • I love Gary Cherone! But I think he's a little bit better in Extreme :P

  • incredible guitar work, pity it did not get more air play

  • After I saw this video for the first time it was like "all right and where is my coat right now?"

  • I used to like cherone as a singer before this album. brutal vocals

  • poor mike, i am happhy he is in chickenfoot

  • help me i am gonna puke, who the fuck told eddy that gary was good for the band, in this song i thought was extreme until i saw eddy and company

  • Van Cherone.... major, MAJOR fail!!!

  • Ice girl reminds me of the russian chick from Dodgeball.

  • Comment removed

  • iam a hardcore van halen fan & to me sammy hagar was by far the best voice for the band

  • @JMAN19851 I agree 100%.

  • nice ass but she needs bigger tits

  • One of my favorites VH songs ever

  • @watchman5150 NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE THE GREATNESS OF THIS SONG, I MEAN COME ON!

  • i remember eddie (when doing press for this "record") admitted that some of his "best ideas" came to him while he was sitting on the throne -- here's the proof -- DLR & SH were never great singers, but GC makes them sound operatic in comparison (note to gary: you need more than freddie mercury's vocal phrasing to sound like freddie mercury -- you need his vocal range) i can't decide what the smelliest part of this tune is: trying to rhyme "won't" with "out", or "ah yeah-yeah yeah-yeah" @ 3:19

  • Why did they even bother? Nothing against Gary but it sounds soooo much like Sammy.

  • @vetter200 Thats why I hate this CD. Gary was trying to sound too much like Sammy.

  • great song, also one of my favorites

  • I like the fact that, as it is a more recent version of Van Halen, it sounds better than the first VH songs. But I just can't dig this... I mean, it's not bad. But I'm just in love with the original Van Halen. Maybe I would even like it if it would be another band and not the same Van Halen

  • @thewhatsupquiqui Agreed. But if your a guitar player like me, Van Halen is Van Halen as long as it's got EVH. But Gary sounds good in this. It's just like VH went crazy on a song for once and made it completely different with lyrics and vocals and Eddie's rosewood guitar.

  • @MineCraftExperts yep. There's no doubt VH will always be VH with Eddie! :) he's the main artist & soul in Van Halen. But talking about the voice, I love DLR.

  • @thewhatsupquiqui DLR was good "WAS" but the guy can't sing nomore...

  • This is actually one of my favorite Val Halen songs.

  • My favorite song!

  • I LOVE this vid....

  • @phatblackcow Same I know the model and she is sooo super sweet! She gave me her balcony. She has a white rabbit that she dyes different colors. She is amazing and she loves me. So whenever i get sad i watch this and everything turns better!

  • This was the most sophisticated VH album! They were turning into a progressive rock band! it's too bad that they didn't publish more albums! Hopefully the new one with Dave will pick up where this one left off! Think of it--a prog rock VH album with Dave as the frontman?? That would be an awesome masterpiece!!

  • @legasimusic I pray you are correct, but using the owrds 'sophisticated' and 'progressive' along with DLR seems an oxymoron. Either way, I look forward to new EVH material to slobber over.

  • @legasimusic Nice idea, and I would LOVE the idea of being able to call VH a prog rock, 'cause this record definitely had some proggy elements. That said, I don't know that Roth would be the right frontman for this type of music. When Cherone joined, the lyrical concepts took an abrupt about face, and Roth was always more the party kind of guy. Beyond that, Roth's vocals (in places) kinda bored me. I always like Cherone and Hagar more; they had more range.

  • @legasimusic I want the old blues/rock Van Halen. No more touchy feely crap.

  • Best Van Halen Line up, Absolutly Love This Album!

  • @baxterfat Which is really sad, because if people gave the album a chance, they would have found some quality material on there.

  • I never understood why the album "Van Halen III" got so much hate from the press.

Was it because of Gary Cherone from Extreme? Was it because they addressed subject matter of a political nature on the album? Or was it the fact they had television theme composer Mike Post producing the album? Personally, I liked "Van Halen III"...it wasn't that bad, but that's just me...

  • Who is the name of this ice girl model?

  • @guilhermebsr Hello, Her name is Moreg Dickson. She is also in the Smashing Pumpkins video Zero.

  • @alvaroesrockII Hi Moreg is also the sweetest woman you will ever meet! Just wondering do you know her?

  • Unusual guitar for Ed , with rosewood neck indeed!

  • Love it!

  • thank for upload guys,.., nice song
