@ma44kk44 Ha ha! Thanks for that! And why would this be then!? The idea/problem is that the Plantar fascia is tight/short, so my placing the thumb in shortens the"stretch point" and lets you stretch it at different lengths....but I guess you knew this?!!
@ma44kk44 the stuff with the thumb is called "myofascial release". Look it up. Essentially it loosens the fascia in the foot, and lengthens it. I used this for my shins splints and haven't seen them for over 6 months, when i used to have a hard time walking.
I wish I could do this...I have heel spurs in my left heel and my left big toe has a fracture, so I can't pull it back...could this be the cause of the problem, since I can't flex that toe?
@sgagos the cause of heel spurs is due to a recurring inflammation of the PF, but this would have happened over a length of time, the fact that you have a fracture of the big toe will now have an effect on your gait, it will put an extra strain on the big toe joint and so on the PF, when your large toe has healed you need to get your gait assessed...
@seyness1 Hi - could be a number of reasons, such as calves being tight, but specifically the plantar is just tight. Do the above a few times a day, and should find it will ease and should resolve within a few days...let me know!
lol do not do this. bending the toe back is fine, don't do the stuff with the thumb
