Apparently this is the first song they ever played together ... I can only imagine their collective jaws dropping the first time they heard each other on this tune - it must truly have been an OMG! experience ( oh to have been a fly-on-the-wall ).
I agree this is good, but nothing compared to the versions from 1969--in 1969 Plant's voice was SOOO much better, and Page's playing was so much sharper (because he wasn't in a heroin-induced haze all of the time). Not to mention the toll that alcohol and touring had taken on Bonham. In 1969 he was lean and hungry... Check out the many versions on YouTube from 1969.
@spikydude98 look up the one from bremen Pages is fucked up this night. The Bremen one is fucking amazing, and aerosmiths version doesnt kick you in the stomach the way Zepp's version in it's best does. I also have a better quality recording of this show, and believe me when I say page is sloppy tonight because he's incredibly fucked up. he talks right before they do black dog this show and when you listen to him speak you can tell like not right away but he does slurr a bit with his words.
Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin are equal. They both put out some of the very best hard rock of this century. How can you say that one is better than the other?they both had tons of great songs. They both has there time of glory.
Spikey, you're an idiot. WHY do you think Aerosmith covered this tune? Because they know great songs and performances, and obviously, you don't. Go listen to ABBA dummy.
1xx, OK to defend LZ, but you're wrong. LZ didn't originate Train, nor did the Yardbirds. And the Aerosmith version is GREAT! You'll never find a bigger LZ fan than me, but I don't go to the ridiculous extremes you do! Do your homework and learn to love ALL of the incarnations of the tunes LZ covered!
@genthelvite You are correct. ALl the British bands are doing teh version recorded by Rockabilly artist Johnny Burnette and the Rock and Roll Trio, from 1956. They were one of the first bands to use distortion, and the guitar riff that all the British bands are using is from Burnette's version, which was way before it's time. Obviously we know the British artists were influenced by American Rockabilly.
This is Led Zeppelin, A Band that shit all over Aerosmiths face and Steven Tylers giant lips. Zeppelin is playing the ORIGINAL version. Aerosmith made their own version of this song. Your Argument is invalid.
@1xXLedZeppelinXx1 my personal oppinion is valad this is utube not a courtroom. and if it was wtf makes you the judge? it was not an argument, simply a voice of oppinion
Led zepplin changed it way more than Aerosmith. And dude, they haven't really shat all over their face. Seeing as Aerosmith turned out to be a way more influential and successful band.
@leojisgood More influential? hardly...Zeppelin ruled the 70s, and everyone else was left trailing. Aerosmith has been possibly more successful, but they have also been active for many more years.
Whether you like it or not Aerosmith has influenced two whole generations of music. Led Zeppelin was around for one era, Aerosmith is still going. Aerosmith is with the big names now.
@leojisgood Aerosmith sold out a long time ago. They should never be mentioned in the same sentence as LZ, "Don't want to miss a thing," what garbage.
@StuntKing909 Even Steven Tyler admitted that when he saw Zeppelin on their first tour of America he was blown away. He also admitted that Jimmy Page stole the girl that he was dating at the time as well. D'oh!
It wasn't at this show.I Believe it was during "Black Dog" at a show in the Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.Alcohol played a factor but apparently Bonzo also ate 25 bananas before the show and i guess Bonzo+the bananas+ Alcohol+Black dog =ZZZZZzzz

in the "hammer of the gods book" it said that john bonham collapsed at this show most likely from alcohol abuse.
