I carry: Class 3 machine gun with a shoulder holster, 2 desert eagles (one on each hip), an MP5K attached with a sling, I try to a grenade with a spare if necessary, I carry two maglight LED's, 2 cell phones (1 for calls and 1 for games), I keep an Ipod Touch (for movies and games), an Ipod Nano (in case i need to wait on someone), I carry a machete because you can never be to careful if you need to cut any rope or zombies. This is my typical bare minimum EDC, I would usually carry more.

Reading these pro and anti gun comments from the UK, I'd say that at 61, and having grown up in the suburbs of London but lived 50 miles out of the city for 30 years, I have never seen a handgun nor witnessed a violent crime. I don't know anyone who has been a victim of a violent crime. I know London is a more violent place than when I lived and worked there but violent crime is still rare. I haven't hidden away either. Maybe the more guns, the more crime? Yup, of course, surely? Be lucky.

I am a "Progressive Dem" supporter of the 2nd amendment, proud member of the NRA. There is a dangerous reality in both the inner cities & suburbs. I was rob in the suburbs while washing my car, who "wanted" me to assume the execution position before lawful conceal carry. Thinking I was in a safe area n lawbiding my gun was locked in its case in the car which i couldn't get to. My kids were 3,5, 8. Since then my gun has saved me 3 times without firing 1 shot.

Since I do have a CCW license, I carry a XD-40 Sub Compact. a Cold Steel Voyager with a Tanto blade, cell phone, wallet and a no name little flash light that I picked up. I am able to carry my fire arm because I do live in the United States of America and we do have something in our Constitution called the 2nd Amendment. Unlike most countries in this world.

The gun owning community is in general a very responsible group of people exercising their constitutional rights, many have been in the military, or were trained by a family member that was. I would value that kind of training greatly over what the government might offer via some minimum wage flunky. If you visit a DMV office you see the type of unmotivated, low skill level employees they would likely offer as "trainers" . I would not see that as a good thing. (not to pick on DMV employees )

One recent example was a TSA screener that played a trick on a young lady getting screened for a flight.
