Yes, I agree. It's funny, smart, interesting--all of those things. You have to wonder why it never aired. And since when does Providence end nc? I couldn't help but notice that news accounts of this series being axed before it even aired often describe Joe Pantoliano's mayor as ethically "shady" & his portrayal as Buddy Cianciesque--a reference to longtime Providenc mayor Buddy CIAnci--who's APRIL 30 (b. 1941) birthday coincides with the end of the U.S. Coast Guard's cold weather season

Buddy CIAnci's APRIL 30th birthday coinciding with the end of the U.S. Coast Guard's cold weather season fits nicely with the title of the series, "WATERfront" and with Rhode Island's nickname, "The Ocean State". RHODE island could evoke RHODEs Scholar, right?
