This was the film the BBC showed on the Old Grey Whistle Test at the end of 1970s and for many this was the first glimpse of Springsteen in the UK. Although I thought it was in 1978. Classic.
@keithmartinames I remember seeing it at the time. I think it was said that it was the only live clip available at that time. I knew his music but, yes, this was the first 'glimpse' of the live show. I couldn't be certain of the exact date. It was definitely sometime during the 1978-79 school year so you could be right.
@sensor82 its from July 8, 1978 at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix, Arizona. It's obviosly been mislabeled as old grey whistle test.
Here comes pure Rock'n Roll...charging up the hill.........It ain't da Beatles or Stones...maybe da best dem 'mericans got to offer.... Ask dem English lassies.....

The last records BS released are a insult fo his talent.
What happened to him ? Eaten by Corporate Rock and SONY.
And you can't imagine what it costs to me to say that.

This is the Bruce I love.
This is the Bruce who existed before the "foreign and domestic policy politician" whom Bruce became.
*Such a shame. Such a shame.*

Springsteen generally gets on my nerves these days but he always had a reputation of being a great live performer, and this is amazing!
