If youre so smart, you would realise that although Jeeps and Hummers have great approach angles, they cannot actually climb at that angle. If a Hummer went up a 72 degree hill, IT WOULD TIP OVER!!! The approach angle has nothing to do with how steep a slope the car can go up, it is to do with the ability to rock crawl...

Also, if you say hummers and jeeps have heaps more power, how the hell do you think they could get it to the road/ground? The tires would slip!

Think the tarmac queens amongst you will find that all RWD pickups will slide on wet roundabouts. Offroad, tyres matter, and 'offroad' isn't going a cross a field to get your horsebox. ;-)

If I was going anywhere remote, and wanted to be sure of getting back OK, I'd take the Landcruiser - or the Disco, a mechanic and a load of spares. You'll never get a Hilux owner to like a Landrover mate. :-)

Actually I own both a Discovery and a Toyota landcruiser and the disco is by far the better offroader. My toyota has problems with wet leaves on the road!

Mmmm, nice sticky 'made to be climbed on road tyres' ramp, nice sticky clean road tyres. i reckon pretty much any 4x4 could get up there with little effort.

Outside, REAL offroad, if you can get all the mechanicals to stay in one piece, they're OK - but Toyota's kick their ass. :)

Rofl Toyotas... I spent the week driving a Hilux last week and Ive never been so terrified of wet roundabouts. Then I had to go off road and it actually seemed better in rear wheel drive that fourwheel drive because eventually the back slide round and hit something that it would grip on.

Actually, he is a professional mountain climber; they introduced him at the show and he talked about his mountain climbing experience.

His name is Paul McCartney or something :P That's all I remember because his name sounded similar to that and Clarkson started calling him Paul McCartney. So there. :)
