I filmed this clip and had the honor of drinking with Davy that evening as we were at the front of a very long Q at the Kings head he came to say hello to us. I can confirm he was drinking soft drinks, here's a picture of us on the night you will notice he is drinking lime cordial. flickr.com/photos/brotherg/162237414/
I totally agree i cannot watch this to the end it saddens me so much , i fully realise age takes its toll but he has lost it here by whatever means. To see Davey in full flow @ the allnighters in the cousins was certainly a sight to behold,he broke a 4th string @ the beginning of The Fakir he didnt bat an eyelid just pulled the string to oneside and carried on, a true genius . watch Davey play all of me with all his runs an embellishments everything just fits , not notes for notes . Rip Big D
Tarrega was the best composer for guitar! Davy is not so good with classical as with steel/string folk-jazz pieces. I am a little disappointed here too because he should do what he is best at, not classical compositions.

@anglinthemtns you are wrong about that, Davy released tons of classical material over the years, it's just so many people haven't given his full discography the listen it deserves. Davy is still miles ahead of his time, the world hasn't caught on to what an unbelievably talented and original musician we've lost.
Not really that impressed. I'm desperately in love with his music, I find it expressive beyond what can be put to words, but this particular clip is rather disappointing.
Brings back memories. Davy was my guitar teacher in 1988. A complex man, but I owe him alot. Towards the end of his life I would often not see him for years, then when we met he remembered everything we ever discussed ! If only luck had gone his way, they worshipped him in the States.
do you have any of his tabalature, you might be willing to email? I know it's a lot to ask, but I'm a huge fan, I just find his playing far too complex to figure out at times.
Hello there, no sorry, I have nothing left but memories. He was a highly complex and creative man, also very unfocused at times. He was also notoriously diapproving of tab and would teach from notation.
I think there is an aged beauty about this piece, and the aura of his past and the video of him as an old man far surpasses any lack of musical skill presented. It is no shame to see a man as legendary as Davey playing music in his old age
Any clip of Davy is worth having now that he's gone from us, but it's so sad for me to see this performance when I think of what he was like in the 60s. I jammed with him on several occasions at the Cousins as many of us did - and was blown away by his playing then. He's always been a major influence for me and many others, and was a dear, if sometimes difficult man.
You were lucky to have met him. I've read everything I could get my hands on about him. Most often described as "otherworldly". Farewell to a genius and truly nomadic spirit.
God bless Davey. He went across the guitar firmament like a shooting star and illuminated the path ahead for younger troubadors to explore. He will be remembered for so long as six strings are tied to a box.
I feel like crying...RIP Davy Graham. He is my hero.
