  • Hey Gramps - I coulda saved you $150. you can buy the glass alone and a child could install it. Sorry the salesman ripped you off.

  • that is very expencive

  • thanks to you i fix my mirror, but my mirror was less money...Ebay my friend ,Ebay !!

it is nace tu have grandpa.

  • I just got my new mirror as well, my gmc safari mirror was hit with a football! I bought a brand new mirror for 25.00 on EBAY plus about 15.00 for shipping.

  • The same thing happened to my 2004 GMC Safari. However, on the 2004 model, I did not have to remove the entire door paneling. That little piece in the corner where the mirror bolts are is separate. And I bought the entire power mirror assembly for $100 at my local parts store (I am near Toronto, Ontario). Dealers always overcharge.

  • My grandfather was handy with fixing shoes (he was in the show business) but the only way he knew how to fix anything else was with duck tape.

  • The entrance to my grandmother's garage is very narrow and she used to own a '93 Lincoln Continental and she must have broken the right side view mirror god knows how many times. The thing that is good about her current car (an '04 Audi A4) is that the side view mirrors fold meaning they're less likely to break.

  • you are right about the seperate piece part on the door panel and mirror. im guessing this van is a 2005, because i installed a new door on a '04 Astro van like this one not that long ago, and had to change the mirror too, and it had a seperate plastic panel where the mirror nuts are, which simply popped off, and did not require removal of the entire door panel.

  • great video! and great job! your Grandfather seems like a really nice guy, also its too bad a whole mirror had to be purchased to fix a broken mirror? that seems odd to me, i know most cars have a replacement mirror (glass) you can buy, at least i can buy replacement glass for my old trucks mirrors, i guess some companies got people coming and going, seems silly to spend 200+ dollars to fix a shattered mirror, if it was me i would be ticked at the dealer! and the company!

  • also i like how the door panel had to be removed, or peeled back, they sure thought that one over at GM, people always knock Ford for stuff, yet on these GM vans you have to buy a whole new mirror unit to fix a shattered mirror lens! and then peel the door panel off to remove the mirror! that is crazy! ah well, glad nothing broke, sometimes those door panels like to stay put, and crack! also your Grandfather has a good nature to him, and is quite spirited, "i better not break this mirror!" :)

  • wow, grandpa rocks.

  • What year?

  • is that a toyota previa at 6:57?

  • grandpa your rocks ! he's like mine

  • You have an awsome grandpa there Daniel.Enjoy him while hes still around dude. Both my grandparents are dead.Awsome repair job to the van.
