As an officer myself I will be the first to say that, assuming that this guys story is correct, there was no need to use the taser. I will also say that way to many officers use the taser when it is not needed. That being said, it is a very effective tool (when appropiatley used). The taser has no amperage in it, just volts. Volts do not kill, amps do. Thousands of studies have been done on the taser (many by anti-taser groups) they have ALL conluded that the taser is non-lethal!

Seems like cops arte using their tazers as a replacement for people skills, professionalism and training. When will it get so damn outrageous that people will shoot back? And WHY don't lawmen use nets or ropes as a FAR safer, more humane method of restraint, seeing as how the old skills of non-lethal control aren't being taught any more? i saw an asian dude in los angeles county jail get surrounded by deputies and he wouldnt get on the ground. he put himself in a solid stance and 1 deputy tazed him and he didnt go down. another deputy tazed him and the guy just stayed sturdy ass hell in a perfect defensive crouch. he wasnt blinking, twitching or moving. he was clearly focused like he was harnessing the electricity and energy. he did however start smoking from his head like a chimney then the deputies tackled him!! true story !!

As an officer myself I will be the first to say that, assuming that this guys story is correct, there was no need to use the taser. I will also say that way to many officers use the taser when it is not needed. That being said, it is a very effective tool (when appropiatley used). The taser has no amperage in it, just volts. Volts do not kill, amps do. Thousands of studies have been done on the taser (many by anti-taser groups) they have ALL conluded that the taser is non-lethal!
