Oh that hurry impulse some have is cause they will forget what they wish to mention.I waiting your turn you forget.Wouldn,t you just blirt it out???Shure kids do they think they matter of course. Thus can,t communicate well if that forgetting is that quick.Understand this is not really ADHD but he can help with this also.
I spent more then 12 years in school system. They do protect, give tools. When you have a discussion they do try to do all they can. This is a huge area of exspert tese.Big ,covers a lot.How about you read up on it.
What,s he mean poisioning for medications? You know it is not.Things in the world of medicines can go wrong. But usually no. Especially if you what the child close and pay attention to his/hers complaints sujesting medicines are too strong.Everyone should be told the signs of a over does amount. It can be normal for the child but be too strong. They adjust it.
@7466309change I whent to school you know.In USA.I was given speach therpy is a tool.Perhapes your school wasn,t to smart. But some where.schools do give individual a chance but part one is discussions. Not every kid is on meds.some do have to be on them.Like it or not.But they are carefull. You all use your heads tho.
There are no "signs" of ADHD; there are certainly "symptoms" in children, usually in the form of displeasure communicated by the those who seek to "remedy" the non-conforming pupil. As such, behavioral ratings and rater are deciding which child, and which types of behaviors, are to be construed as "disordered". The institutional and programmatic goals of any school, as a state institution, must coerce non-conformity: alter the individual and one alters the social. This is social engineering.
@whiff1962 was yours only displeasure? That was years ago. But your the group that changes it for who is now in schools.Yes they changed and are still changeing.
Hi! I was wondering if me and my husband could bring my son to you for a diagnosis for ADD/ADHD. Everything you said he had always done but he seems so normal that it's really hard to think he has this. He has had every teacher tell me that he can not complete tasks and has to continuously sit out of fun activities to complete tasks. I don't have enough space to say all I need to. Could you email me at hempbeachwear@yahoo.com to set an appointment with you? I can explain more in an email.
I would see why a child would show distractibility and irritability in a school setting, certainly in the formal, indoctrinating periods! How many children are so diagnosed during summer vacation, if ADHD is passed off as a brain disorder (disease?)
@whiff1962 if a child needs help for school cause of learning issues don,t you think he/ she should have opertunity for help?Let them have the tools to acheive now instead of resentment.?
First off, your assertion is, among other things, a morally slippery slope. Children do not have the opportunity of voicing his disapproval or approval of being "treated". As such, ADHD is not considered a learning disability by the very same mental health zealots who see it as a "disorder"; so you are mixing apples with oranges. And how does poisoning a child to conform seem the best means to an "end". And what is that end? Of treating society in general, and the school in particular!
I think the greatest evil that our culture has practiced is in minimizing the moral and medicalizing same! This "resentment" is in reference to what? My dismay over this business as usual, of assuming the disruptive, inattentive, and "willful" child as disordered? I am not talking of the adults right to assume any of the various articles of faith of psychiatry. How does poisoning a child to conform, as if such is an "amelioration" (for whom?), furnish the "ADHD" child any "tools." Stigma, yes.
@whiff1962 As medical and parents people use the brain.Look yes kids do have a say in the treatment as well as parents.Good medicine listens to all and pays close attention so that all is well. But has to pay attention to the whole things even the teachers.you read the stuff the pharmacy provides you. Then be educated to ask good info. A lot of children do well on it.But it is not all just a pill. They discuss changes in school too.
@whiff1962 Tools are .1 changeing the lessons.2Tutors.3 teaching differnt things they can do for a job eventually.Aparently you donot understand the word tools.Brail is a tool.A differnt concept aplied is a tool.
@7466309change And drugs are tools. I spent some ten years in the public school system, and I know that the factory system isn't geared to individual learning styles. One either conforms or not; fails or flourishes. Rigidity in the programmatic nature of schools is but one of the reasons why so many are pushing for a voucher system. The means of spotting a child as "likely" being ADHD is heavily biased toward boys and those who are generally disruptive and poor performers to start with.
schools are adapting todeay to individual needs as necassary. They are wakeing up.That society is in need.
