BF:BC2 - VC8 Runtime Redistributable Package Error Fix [UPDATED!]

Hey ! I found it !

Unzip the file to your desktop (like in this video),go to support/localization.ini and replace installvc8redist=1 with installvc8redist=0,it will NOT install the VC++ redist and thus will install. Update your vc++ manually if needed. ANd it WORKS!

@Matittjhau This also works, but you do need the package to run the game. Trying to run the game without it will not work.

i got a .MDS file instead of a .ISO file for some reason, and i set the disk decrypter to save it in .ISO format. help??

@GimmeCrossfireHaks The problem with that is you actually need the VC8 package in order to run the game. The way explained in the video is the correct way to fix it and actually install the package during the game installation. I have done it 5 separate times myself on multiple machines and it still works fine.

what the hell i had bfbc2 installed and played it for months then all of a sudden it didnt work anymore so i tried reinstalling it and i get the dam vc8 error

i had this problem after i formated my pc, i had some 'services' disabled, so i enabled every program that had installer in its name, pressed apply, restarted my pc, tried to install it again and it did.

Now its updating, which will take an hour to complete, enough time to post this.

ive bought this game and it said that it needed to configurate the VC++2005 so i clicked on ok then it froze so i closed it and tryed it agaig and again and again but didnt work..... i downloaded VC++2005 and VC++2008 so they are on my comp now i cany play BFBC and i cant get the downloads off my computer what the hell?? help plz

why are you adding unneeded steps? Just copy the files from the DVD directly, no need for DVD Decrypter or Winrar. Its much faster and simpler.

@FawxyPawz Most DVD's have hidden files on the root of the disc to prevent you from doing this. The correct way to do it is the way I showed. (I tried it that way first and it didn't work.)
