I know friends who are just like what Rinpoche said. It is really funny because the caricature is so accurate of them and yet exaggerated. I think Rinpoche is highly observant of people's behavioral patterns and modes of thinking. His books and teachings are such a blast!

You know what is really funny, I know people just like that. It is amazing how accurate Rinpoche caricatures these people because I am sure they are not as obvious as Rinpoche portrays but when you get to know them, they are really like that. i guess Rinpoche jokes about it so that it is easier for others to accept.

This is really funny and as much as it gives insight to us. It also gives insight into Rinpoche's qualities. He is not really not afraid to point out the faults of his students and he makes it into a joke so that they can hear it and it is a lesson to laugh at themselves. However it will be indelible in their mind to allow them to realize it.

Who is more attached? Someone who is relatively rich and doesn't donate much money but does a lot of work for a Buddhist organisation or someone who is poor who makes a big deal of her small donations and doesn't do much for others except complaining and bitching about others. You know Rinpoche could almost be an actor if it wasn't for Kyabje Zong Rinpoche who told him he could benefit even more people if he become a monk. It is so cool he combined his thespian skills in his Dharma talks.

My favorite attachment!!! --> Money!!! Hence, Dzambala is my favorite practice to lessen my attachment and gain generosity plus material wealth aka money. The money gained through Dzambala is given so I can do more do benefit the Dharma and hence cut my attachment! I love the Dharma! Catch me on Wednesdays at Dzambala Puja at KH2. =)

Attachement, attachement, attachment, we all attached to love, friends, wife, husband, food, sex and MONEY. Nowadays, everyone is thinking about MONEY, no others thing..........Sometimes i really think, Money is important, but when the moment we died, can we even bring a single cents down with us??? Conclusion: We cant, and we create more sufferings.....Practising Dharma help us to let go our attachment just like monks, they sacrificed their life to let go alot of worldly things......

In this video I find Rinpoche challenges his students on the subject of money using the skillful means of humor . He would actually make himself look funny just to bring the point across , despite he being the reincarnation of one of Lama Tsongkhapa's main student. What compassion he has to do what he does fearlessly.

Watching this video what comes to mind are people who have this hang up that being rich is not being spiritual at all. This video is proof that you can be rich and spiritual at the same time. Being rich or poor is not the gauge, but what the money is used to do is: whether or not it is used for the sake of others or for the self. kecharahouse(dot)com

it is not wrong to be filthy rich or be very calculative, if the result that comes from it happens to be positive, like being calculative and frugal so that you can save up enough for an orphanage. It is not how you spend it but the effect that comes when spending it that counts.

some people do have a lot of money but they use it to do charity while others dont and those who dont often complain of being empty on the inside because they dont find a meaning in life as they have not really benefitted anyone with their wealth. i had a rich landlord that dressed like a bag lady and was afraid to spend money before. the place was so nasteeee... there was a hole in the shower wall and her washer and dryer were in the front yard, and like 1 potty for 10 ppl. cuz like she rented out so many rooms like to make more money, i wish i could send her this video. i was like... "why don't you fix the hole?" "too much money..." then one other girl that lived there caught the male roommate peeking through the hole and went schizo.
