The first Orange Line stations are scheduled to open in 2012. Construction time required for any rail line will vary according to the location of the rail corridor and other factors.
Why will the construction of the Orange line take longer than the greenline did?
The original openning date was something like December 26 or 27; so it's good they managed to open it earlier in the month rather than later.
But what's so different that the orangeline wont be open until 2013?
The cant do it like they did the greenline? They opened part of it last year(2009) when the fair came to town and now they've got the rest of it opened ahead of the original openning date.
