Thanks to Mozart it was introduced to the orchestra! <3
Great complement in the woodwind section, an instrument of fantastic awesome timbre to have in an orchestra, and such a beautiful solo instrument. Woot woot!!!!!!!
@mozartiano123 And the high ones... In 3 and up to 4 octave if you can:) (I can play up to 'E' note on 4 octave) If you play high notes correctly they sound beautiful too.
Clarinet is the best instrument ever!!! every time a play it, it shows me something new, and if you practice a lot you don't even imagine what tone you could get...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
They're under appreciated because they're annoying, its like going to squeak town even for intermediates and i havent heard one clarinetist with a good tone quality outside recordings and professional orchestras. On the other hand maybe its just because i play in a high school band, i get a free ticket to sqeak town every day of my life. Just my personal Opinion, food for thought

P.S. Sorry for being an a** but leave the trumpets alone
Clarinets are no annoying, they are one of the most beautiful instruments ever made. The problem is that new clarinetists rush into their playing and don't give their embochure a chance to set in so they have that squawking sound that is comparible to a dying goose. Just put it this way, the clarinets shape is made to produce an extremely dark and full tone, but that also makes it so that if there is too little or too much air pressure that squawk comes out
@MonstersNightmare Yeah, but I am entitled to have my opinion on which instruments are better. The main reason I posted this comment is cuz trumpets I know go around saying they are better than clarinets.
this is one of my favorite instruments to play but the only part about i dont like about it is moving from Bb in the staff to a middle B natural or C.
go for it. i''ve learned how to play every kind of clarinet...not very hard if you're flexible to play with good tone. oboe, english horn, bassoon, drums/percussion, bass, alto sax, tenor sax, any sax...any woodwind instrument basically put in front of me and i can play bass and thats pretty much the only string instrument i enjoy playing.
Thanks for a very neat view of the clarinet! How about posting the names of the pictured players so some of us don't go mad trying to think of who is that?
tenor sax was the love of my musical life.....but I would have never played it had I not learned woodwind technique on the clarinet for several years first. it's an awesome gateway instrument.
this is my secound year playing clairnet and its so fun sofar! i just got a new wooeden clairnet it sounds so wonderful!! any one who was thinking about playing clairnet go for it! becasue its just so much fun!
I love this arrangement for clarinets it sounds so cool. And it must be super difficult. This piece is originally for piano: by Felix Mendelssohn from his collection of "Songs Without Words" or "Lieder ohne wort" Op67-4. This particular piece is known as "the Spinning song." You should check it out on the piano played by Murray Perahia.
I recognised a few faces in that. Is it Larry Combs at 0:32? How about Martin Frost at 0:42? and Artie Shaw at 0:56? I think 1:35 could be Guy Deplus from the Paris Conservatoire but am not sure. Who are the others?
Are you sure that the artists performing this piece are called "the Clarinet Evergreens"?
For I've got a CD called "Clarinet Evergreens" with exactly the same piece (and others of course) on it, performed by the Budapest Clarinet Quintet. I had the impression that the version on my CD sounds exactly like the one in your video...
Ok, never mind that. Great vid! Thanks for uploading.
yes, this was transcribed for clarinet choir, but I don't remember which book and opus # unfortunately.. I know this was performed by the Clarinet Evergreens, and on Amazon they have it listed as No.3, but other than, I'm not sure...
The picture of the clarinet stick person was from the Mississippi All State Lion's Band camp that I was at! My clarinet was part of the head. Did you get it off of facebook?
Wow, you must feel somewhat honored then! I can't recall where I found the picture, but I remember when I did, I thought it was so imaginative and cute that I just had to use it in this video :)

Some good additions. If you ever make a sequel, you should include other clarinet deities.
-Robert Marcellus (God)
-Harold "Bud" Wright (Jesus)
-Ricardo Morales (Allah)

-Karl Lesiter (Zeus)
In addition, of course, to Benny Goodman (The Man), Larry Combs (Legend), and David Shifrin (...well, he's still really awesome).
