  • clarinets are so under-appreciated. They are way cooler than trumpets.

  • Just so you know, its principAL.

  • cheers

  • nahh no good clarinetist squeaks

    sooo you cant blame everyone

    and

    clarinets have three octives

  • The clarinet has much more then three octaves, I am barely above an intermediate level and I can play more then three octaves

  • Can you play the Kernal 300?

  • Clarinets are no annoying, they are one of the most beautiful instruments ever made. The problem is that new clarinetists rush into their playing and don't give their embochure a chance to set in so they have that squawking sound that is comparible to a dying goose. Just put it this way, the clarinets shape is made to produce an extremely dark and full tone, but that also makes it so that if there is too little or too much air pressure that squawk comes out

  • @narutardednerd '

    The world needs every instrument.

  • @MonstersNightmare Yeah, but I am entitled to have my opinion on which instruments are better. The main reason I posted this comment is cuz trumpets I know go around saying they are better than clarinets.

  • @narutardednerd

Haha I understand. For the record, I love them both.

  • @narutardednerd TRUMPETS are Awesome too!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Clarinet = the most versatile instrument!

  • I have H Klose. its a hard book!

  • Oh, the "Spinning Song"!

I arranged this piece a few months ago for four clarinets; what a random!!xxxD

  • Why does every video involving a clarinet have people commenting along the lines of: 'i play clarinet its the best instrument EVER!!!!!!!!"

    Really, nobody cares

  • if you dont care then why are u commenting on it.

  • i know. it's annoying. they say how long they play and how good they think they are lol.

  • Brava!! Wonderful! I love it. I need to tell my band director about this...

    Excellent job!!

  • Who is the photo of at 0:35 ?

  • Whats the name of the one playing the first clarinet? His sound is just gorgeous.

  • I have played the clarinet for about 5 years now and it is the best instrument ever created

  • I play clarinet too but I want to play violin because I love string instruments. should I continue with clarinet or what

  • Keep going with clarinet!!,...... how can you give that up for a string instrument..... eeww

  • continue it is way better than string instruments

  • go for it. i''ve learned how to play every kind of clarinet...not very hard if you're flexible to play with good tone. oboe, english horn, bassoon, drums/percussion, bass, alto sax, tenor sax, any sax...any woodwind instrument basically put in front of me and i can play bass and thats pretty much the only string instrument i enjoy playing.

  • yes ive played for 7 years i love it ^_^

  • Bravo for the players, beautifully played.

  • I love this arrangement - does anyone know where I can get hold of the sheet music for it?

  • muy lindo!!!

  • very good!

  • Thanks for a very neat view of the clarinet! How about posting the names of the pictured players so some of us don't go mad trying to think of who is that?

  • Time to go practice

  • I Really want to play my clarinet now so I think

    I will.

  • Do you have to scroll across every picture?

  • you are great

  • Love It!

  • I like how that squirrel was playing a clarinet, it was funny. I like this song as well, thanks for uploading.

  • Some good additions. If you ever make a sequel, you should include other clarinet deities.

    -Robert Marcellus (God)

    -Harold "Bud" Wright (Jesus)

    -Ricardo Morales (Allah)

    -Eddie Daniels (Buddha)

    -Karl Lesiter (Zeus)

In addition, of course, to Benny Goodman (The Man), Larry Combs (Legend), and David Shifrin (...well, he's still really awesome).

  • LOL!!!!!!

  • What, you don't think Julian Bliss is legendary?

Look him up on Youtube, he's effing amazing!

  • I love this arrangement for clarinets it sounds so cool. And it must be super difficult. This piece is originally for piano: by Felix Mendelssohn from his collection of "Songs Without Words" or "Lieder ohne wort" Op67-4. This particular piece is known as "the Spinning song." You should check it out on the piano played by Murray Perahia.

  • i love the clarinet.. this is my first year playing and i made first chair... i wanna play like that

  • man i wish i could play like that.have been playing for just over 7 years.

  • That is benny Goodman at 00:56

  • the clarinet is pretty much the best instrument ever XD i've been playing for 5 yrs

  • i like the song! the clarinet is a great instrument. i sounds so coool! i have been playing the clarinet for 4 years!

  • I recognised a few faces in that. Is it Larry Combs at 0:32? How about Martin Frost at 0:42? and Artie Shaw at 0:56? I think 1:35 could be Guy Deplus from the Paris Conservatoire but am not sure. Who are the others?

  • The clarinet sounds jewish.

  • Well, the Clarinet has been known to worship Yahweh.

  • there is no 3:59 and 5:21 genious :~P

  • it's genius

  • Love the picture at 00:40 and 1:56. Penguins and that one famous picture of the farmer, his wife and a pitchfork (now a clarinet).

I wish my tone was this awesome. I tell myself I must not squeak, I must not squeak, I must not squeak, but I squeak anyways.

  • Are you sure that the artists performing this piece are called "the Clarinet Evergreens"?

For I've got a CD called "Clarinet Evergreens" with exactly the same piece (and others of course) on it, performed by the Budapest Clarinet Quintet. I had the impression that the version on my CD sounds exactly like the one in your video...

Ok, never mind that. Great vid! Thanks for uploading.

I play the clarinet, too. :)

  • argh... I want fellow musicians so bad... playing the

clarinet alone all the time is depressing... no chance

to intone pretty pieces like this one >.>

Where are all the good classical musicians nowadays?

(Oh, and really pretty video and music piece, of course ;D)

  • very impressive. i really like the tone. im trying to match that tone, but i think i need a better mouthpiece

  • WOW! I like it very much :) I played the clarinet for 9 years!!!

  • cute video and a pretty piece that really shows what a clarinet is about.

  • Mendelssohn - Song Without Words

  • Thanks, Really clean playing!!

  • All I could find are Mendelssohn's Piano books. Was this transcribed for clarinet quartet or something if so which book and Op# is this song.

  • yes, this was transcribed for clarinet choir, but I don't remember which book and opus # unfortunately.. I know this was performed by the Clarinet Evergreens, and on Amazon they have it listed as No.3, but other than, I'm not sure...

  • Thanks

  • The picture of the clarinet stick person was from the Mississippi All State Lion's Band camp that I was at! My clarinet was part of the head. Did you get it off of facebook?

  • Wow, you must feel somewhat honored then! I can't recall where I found the picture, but I remember when I did, I thought it was so imaginative and cute that I just had to use it in this video :)

  • very CLEAN playing!!! wow

  • I saw Daneil Bonade, Mitchell Lurie, Richard Stoltzman, and Benny Goodman. Where was Robert Marcellus?????
