Hey man, do you think there's alot of difference between this and the Axe Fx Ultra? other then the USB, re-amping and built in interface is the tone even more tube like? does it still retain dynamics when you roll the guitar volume down?
I'm still waiting on my Axe Fx 2 but wondering if i should just save some cash and get an Ultra or even a standard if the tone is pretty much exactly the same as the new one!
@Jaymze9370 Well from my experience is that on the II, its easier to dial in a tone and get a good sound quicker. There's some different options on the II that I still need to mess with, but thats just going more in depth to the realism of the tone. Yeah I have definitely noticed there is a more tube-like sound than the Ultra, and with the output knob, you can roll it down and still retain your same sound without coloring it at all, almost like an attenuator. I think its worth the wait man.
@Jaymze9370 I use the AFII directly into my DAW and it sounds great once I tweaked my patch enough for it. It just takes time to perfect it, and I still havent even scratched the surface. Sure a power amp might be nice for more shaping but I don't have enough for one yet so the interface alone can be all you need.

@gearslut69 I sold my half stack and some other guitars that I never use anymore. Pretty much got rid of all my old gear that had been sitting in storage
@nellings6 Is that on the fractal board? I never went there and put my name up. Just sent in on the official list. Since then I have a Randall RM1250 coming tomorrow. I was dying so I just bought more stuff. I was hoping the AXEFX and a poweramp might replace the five amps I already own. Instead I bought a 12 channel tube amp.
