A Siberian tiger might be big but not bigger than a brown bear, yes it may be more agile and quick. But when it comes to strength, the bear out does it by tremendous proportions. Grizzlys have nearly twice the bone density, and polar bears are about 1/3 denser bones then grizzly,about 2/3 lesser then a rhinos bone density.Bone measures the grade of muscle it can carry befor breaking under pressure.

Tiger's and lions are almost even when they fight. And i've seen a video of a BLACK bear, half the size and not near as aggresive as a grizzly fighting a lion, and the lion gave up.

@9K58 Guars neck is not made the same as a grizzly, they have 2 inches of fur and 4.5 inches of fat to get through, and a push force of 1200 pounds each hand,pull force of 600-700 it only takes about 150 pounds of pressure for a grizzly claw to pierce a tigers flesh. It's very possible that a Tiger can take out a full grown Brown Bear because they do it by stealth. Bears have a tremendous ability to pick up scent from a mile or more away, so everything has to work in the Tigers favor. Wind patterns have to be just right and then Tiger can make a surprise attack always from behind and at the back of the neck. No Tiger would take on a Brown Bear directly unless the bear is old and injured perhaps.

I'll say it again....A Brown bear doesn't need to be agressive, they are often lazy. They will walk away from an angry cougar. Unless, they are starving and or feel threatened. A tiger might get them to leave with it's growl. But if they attack, the bear would crush their spine and rip it to peices. That's all. I have read just about every statistics that excist about this subject. Thats why I know Tigers do not win as a rule. Tigers do not ever attack a grown Brown Bear in a face to face fight. It has to be a cub, youngster or a small female cought off guard. But if a 200 kg grown Brown Bear want to take the food away from a grown Tiger, it will. The Tiger will not try to defend its prey with a real fight, as it will loose. Some fizzle maybe, and then it will walk away.
