  • Woah, what a great string arrangement from Jimmy Webb on this Boudleaux Bryant classic. I could listen to the ending (and have) over and over. Not to mention Cher's heartfelft interpretation. Thank you!

  • USAPatriot1 - I don't hear of people going to your concerts or shows. Don't hate her cause she's beautiful and has a golden voice. There's too much hate in this world now. That's why the world is in the mess it's in now. So, if ya don't like her music, don't listen!!!!!

  • USAPatriot1 - if you don't like it - don't listen! What an idiot!

  • From her most terrific album.. well one of them

  • What about Jim Capaldi's ?

  • great thanks for sharing

both of Chers versions of this song are very good

its just a shame she never sang it as a duet with Roy Orbison who recorded the orginal

    thanks agin

  • Percy Sledge also covered this song. written for the everly brothers by Boudleaux Bryant!!

  • I'm 39 and have loved Cher since, God, since I was a baby. You do such beautiful jobs with her songs and pictures!!! Any recent news if Warner Bros. are going to release these GREAT albums of hers on cd???

  • vida longa a Cher !!!!

  • love this song!!! I love Cher!!!

    CHER THE ONLY TRUE DIVA!!

  • Beautiful.

  • nice.

  • Great job Tyler!

  • Cher does a beautiful job on this song, originally written for the Everly Brothers.

  • Oh and Cher sang back up vocals on a few Everly Brothers recording sessions.

  • I don't believe that is the case, but I could be wrong. She and Sonny did sing backup for another group with the name of "Brothers" in their group name, but it was the Righteous Brothers. She and Sonny sang backup on a few of their hits. The Everlys were out of Nashville, and I don't believe Cher ever worked out of there.

  • @AGibsonJ Yeah, Boudleaux & Felice Bryant wrote many songs for The Everly Brothers.

  • This is much better than the remake she did again in the '90s.

  • i love cher always have halfbreed me too

  • cher is such a goddess i just feel her music so much

  • hey its me again :P

i just love all ur videos

  • This is the best album cher ever did IMHO of course lol I still have it just can't play but I can now ty !

  • Holy Cow, cherstyler! I never even knew Cher had covered this song around the same time that Nazareth released their awesome 'Hair of the Dog' LP with this same song on it! Thank you!!!

  • Glad I could help inform you...but if you are the first person to record a song, then technically it is not a cover....Nazareth did the cover version...and struck gold...Warner Brother's Records never supported Cher's albums the way they should have...otherwise it would have been CHER who struck gold with Love Hurts.

  • This is a great version of this song. It is a cover though, the Everly Brothers did it in the early '60's.

  • Yes that is true..and there's was a cover also...

  • who did the original? how the heck old is this song :)

  • Roy Orbison...my grandmother told me about it....

  • Okay...I'm on a mission now, I would love to hear Roy Orbison do this!! thanks.

  • Try Jennifer Warnes too , she sang it so beautifully. I also like the Jim Capaldi one.

  • The original was the Everly Brothers...it was written for them by Boudleaux Bryant. Roy Orbison did a cover version.

  • I've always loved and preferred this version of LOVE HURTS. It's such a beautiful arrangement. Please post some songs from her other "lost" album CHERISHED... "Send The Man Over", "LA Plane, and "Again" are some of my favorites....

  • Thanks for the nice comment Jim, I do plan to make videos for CHERished, but have to work my way thru the other missing late 70's albums from the CHER catalogue. Stars, I'd Rather Believe In You, Allman and Woman: Two The Hard Way and finally CHERished.

  • That was great! Funny note about the lyrics; you're right cherstyler: 1975-"I'm young" 1991-"You're young"

This is a wonderful album. Remember "Love Enough" and "Just This One Time?" "Stars" is definitely one of her best works I think. Thanks!

  • You have good taste in music my friend, thanks for the comment

  • Are the albums you mentioned available on CD?

  • GORGEOUS!

    Surreal & impressionistic!
