  • "He's gonna get a mighty load of me when I sound off

In the way of kick right in his eye"

I now have the most awesome image in my head of Voltaire giving a Chuck Norris Roundhouse kick to a Jesus freak

    VOLTAIRE RULES!

  • Yo voltaire i think ur awsome i wonder if you can come to birmingham... thanxs.

  • please come to england

  • This is so amazing. It funny and tied to religion.

  • this song is awesome!

  • duuuuude when are you coming back to chicago . we miss you !!!!!!!

  • Oh man, who knew that Voltaire would be so good at singing a spiritual? Best song of the Album.

  • Because I can't fathom any other way to pursue this; Among friends I had a random, and to us, revolutionary thought. Voltaire singing a medley of songs en-tandem with (if you've heard of them) The Jolly Rogers, a renn-fest frequenting pirate music band. I personally think anything from the To the Bottom of the Sea album.

  • I'm Going to play this song as loud as I can till it wakes the dead!!

  • We make the world what it is =P and the kick to the eye part made me laugh.

  • Ï wanna dance with this song but i don't really know how can i dance this XD ahh love it so much!

  • It's nice to see there's somebody out there who is actually talented instead of using a computer for that.

  • Voltaire, this son is my exact thoughts on religion in a nutshell. That you capture emotions in songs like this and do it some well is amazing and wonderful and is why I buy your albums and listen to your music.

  • *lol* This song reminds me of "In a Handbasket" at the end of Ooky Spooky.

  • The priest with the Cadillac disliked this.

  • WOW

This is just awsome and fantastic!

beautiful melody, great rythm, your amazing voice, the very-well written lyrics, I just listened to it now while I was reading the lyrics and I'm still shocked!

    WOW.

  • The part "Oh lord why won't you talk to me" is how i feel about god! thats awesome :D

  • So much pathos in your music, my friend. The Cajun and swing influences, the powerful lyrics. Everything about it is great.

  • black unicorn looks cool :P VOLTAIRE!!!!!

  • i love VOLTAIRE's music :)

  • voltaire im a huge fan i know a couple songs of yours on guitar and your a huge inspiration to me but what guitar strings do you use? they have a thin sound not that think acoustic sound and i love the thin sound but i jus cant tell what it is

  • Man this song reminds me of when my parents sent me to Catholic School... if only this song had existed then.

  • OMG!! I love this song, sounds like Calloway, Corpse Bride, Mardi Gras and Day Of The Dead Together, I want buy the CD but I don't have credit card, you don't know were can buy the cd in Mexico?? I tried mixup, but no success in my search :'(

  • @meintodestag I agree completely!

  • this song is fantastic. well structured and fun. and i quite like his vibrato in this it compliments the feel of the song so well

  • Excuse me, sir, but if the album is released, is there any reliable place I can order it from to my country? You're not very well known here, so I could swear I cannot find your album anywhere in here, and trust me, I've tried to look for your other albums. So it would be nice to know if there's actually a place I can buy it since I really want to support you :)

  • @TiiaSan Your best bet is to order it from CDbaby.com. The link is above .

  • Brilliant--as usual! ~Minnetta

  • nooo not the top hat

  • This hits the world's frustration spot-on. Any time I think about this kind of thing, I just remind myself that, despite how it looks, we've actually come a long way. The dark ages used to be a helluva lot worse. We live in heaven compared to the past.

  • thanks for uploading sir. Is it possible to just donate somehow? I really do not want to buy songs for download, I'd rather listen them online

  • @petergof242 Absolutely! You can always go send money via paypal to voltaire@voltaire.net Just be sure to mention that it's a donation. That's very kind of you to ask!

  • @VoltaireMusicPage I just wanted to ask, how long did it actually take you to come up with the ending, "People on the street" to "You should take a look around lord, your world is just the pits" part? It's my favorite part of the whole song and I find it amazing that someone can come up with a ending like that that fast and that amizingly good. Thanks, you're the greatest!

  • @icedragonxl4 I wrote that on the spot.

  • @VoltaireMusicPage Damn! You really are a fantastic musician!!!!

  • @VoltaireMusicPage i have a question, are you religious and i don't mean that you subscribe to one particular religion because it doesn't seem like it from your music but im just asking what you do in fact believe

  • This is my favorite song for a two reasons: it's fun to sing, and IT'S SO FUCKING TRUE!!!!

  • Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave Fave fave fave fave fave fave fave fave

  • This is one of if not my favorite on the CD. It is brilliant!

  • in the 6:07 sounds a shut up

  • Genius. That's what this song is.

  • I'm haunted by this song. Fuckin' awesome ;D

  • Brought this song when it first came out on iTunes but it's just so catchy I can't help but drift back to it when casually browsing Youtube.

    Love the chorus.

  • A bit New orleans jazz mixed with blues. I love it.

  • People have been asking about genre... but in terms of style (Relating to tone colour, feel ect.) I would say this is Dixieland. Genre more applies to films and such.

  • haters gonna hate

  • @gabobluemoon How can there be haters if a song has no dislikes?

  • What genre of music is this? It's great

  • @AhcriSlate I've wondered that as well for some time now , and I've arrived to the conclusion that he's way past any single genre , Voltaire is unique onto what he does

at least that's what i think

  • @AhcriSlate I'd say it's Voltaire. Not any genre really, but still fucking awesome.

  • Someone should make a dance to this, it would be great

  • Same style of lyrics as "God hates", and I damn well love it!

  • Probably the best song I've ever heard.

  • that unicorn dosent look too friendly...
