  • Hi Maxx, Yvonne Frindle from the Sydney Symphony here.

For our complete performance of the Peer Gynt incidental music we used an English narration based on Ibsen's play (prepared by John De Lancie). But all the sung vocal numbers used the original Norwegian. The result in this number is that the spoken interjections are in English (for an English-speaking audience) while the singing is Norwegian.

  • It's great to see a performance of this with the vocals (finally),...but why translate them?

  • breathtakingly...really seems like a In The Hall of The Mountain King

    Lighting design is very beautiful...

    bravo!
