Wow, thanks for showing this rockapelle, have you any more from this great Weymouth Weekender. Those were the days (I can see myself in the crowd near stage, more hair then!!). This guy was one of the original Sun Records Rockabillies with Carl, Jerry et al.

Checkout his great cut "Drinkin Wine" ! Band are the Kingbeats from Portsmouth.

i did not know Gene has passed away, news to me, but i recall buying his record haunted house back in the 60's and i also remember everyone thought he was the same Gene simmons from KISS band, thanks for the up date on him, Rockin'

I drank with Gene a few years ago in Nashville at a bar called 15th Ave. Cafe. Jerry Mack was doing karoke there and they had a house band that had George Jones's nephew in it. We sat with George's sister. Gene and I drank tons then a storm outside knocked out all the power! He was a great guy and a great voice. May he rest in peace.

Sadly, Gene Simmons died a few years ago. I got the privilidge to work in bands and on stage with him in the past.He was a great entertainer and writer. He recently had success as a song writer with the cut on Tim McGraw's Indian Outlaw. Gene sang with the legendary Bill Black's combo and toured with the Beatles. Great guy and he is missed.

OK time for people to get educated. This is the ORIGINAL Gene Simmons. He had a big hit with "Haunted House". He started out with Sun Records in Memphis. He has written songs for Country singers and has had quite a bit of success. He appeared a few years back on The Ralph Emery TV show "Nashville Now". He lives down in Mississippi/Alabama and use to own a restaurant. Not sure about what the current status of that is.

The late Gene Simmons recorded for Sun Records during the '50s and scored a bit hit in 1964 with "Haunted House" on Hi Records. He also co-wrote Tim McGraw's first hit "Indian Outlaw."

I am a mobile DJ and still play Gene Simmon's Haunted House at Halloween Dances. Timeless hit, sorry to hear he passed away.
