  • This inspiring collection of essays tells of the growth and

struggles of the members of the early Christian church after the

ascension of Jesus Christ. The essays have been written to give

deeper insight into the history and doctrines in the second half of

the New Testament, Acts to Revelation

  • Included are detailed

discussions on the epistles and missionary endeavors of the

apostles, showing these men to be powerful witnesses of the Savior.

In this sixth volume of the Studies in Scripture series, seventeen

gospel scholars, all deeply committed and believing Latter-day

Saints, focus on the story of the early church in nineteen

    insightful essays.

  • I'm always a little saddened when I hear a Christian say, "Since Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself, it logically follows that you must love yourself first."

This is what it means to mix scripture with the doctrines of men in order to deceive people. Yet, many Christians utter this platitude without the slightest consciousness that they are saying the exact opposite of Jesus' clear meaning.

  • Loving your neighbor as yourself

    By Orson Scott Card

  • Accordingly, Elder Ballard asked ordinary individual members to "join the conversation by participating on the Internet to share the gospel and to explain in simple and clear terms the message of the Restoration." (President Dieter F. Uchtdorf extended much the same invitation during general conference.). .

Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African Race? If the White man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.

  • @IRISHBUDDAFILTH "the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot."

because so many were killed? Nice QUOTE mining!

  • BRUCE R. MCCONKIE Mormon Doctrine,Negroes in this life are denied the priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty. The gospel message of salvation is not carried affirmatively to them... Negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain spiritual blessings are concerned....

  • President Uchtdorf said commitment to service, in war and peace, are hallmarks to members of the U.S. military. "You are people who render service. I honor you for your service."

  • A west German military and commercial jet pilot by profession, President Uchtdorf told of being on a flight of a Utah National Guard tanker some time ago for a refueling mission and spoke of the delicacy of the procedure.

  • "I feel a great urgency for the daughters of God to do all they need to do to strengthen and lift — not just themselves, their families, sisters who are in their wards — but also the world," Sister Beck said. "I feel that the sisters in this church who know and understand their covenants will be a significant force in helping this world which seems to have lost its moral moorings."

  • @omiolo were Lucifer and Jesus brothers?

  • @bornbythesea I find NOTHING in LDS doctrine that says that. In fact I find places in LDS doctrine where it says the contrary.

    Is Jesus Christ God?

  • @omiolo yes.

  • Women must prioritize their energy and pursuits as they seek the counsel of the Lord, said Sister Julie B. Beck, Relief Society general president, during Women's Conference at BYU on April 29.

  • Prioritize pursuits, Sister Beck says

  • Call goes out for art by Primary children for an exhibit in the Church History Museum

  • You try to approach everybody differently and teach personally to them, said Elder Tod Workman, another Spanish-speaking missionary. They're open to listening when they hear something they might not know about.

  • Young Men General President David L. Beck, left, and Church Printing Division manager John Bernstein review recently printed cover pages of the new Duty to God program book. The revised Duty to God program is designed to help young men deepen their relationship with God.

  • UNLVs student government doesnt track membership of clubs, but with 486 members, Rasmussen believes LDSSA is one of the largest student organizations on campus. Most members of LDSSA are also members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly known as Mormons.

  • They had originally found something they could agree on from a Mormon modest dress site online. It wasn't until a week before the prom that they realized the dress would not arrive until four days after the dance

  • Siebach said all 35 team members are practicing Mormons, and because USA Rugby scheduled that round on Sunday, the team has decided to forfeit if it wins

  • Getting back to work is a significant part of the recovery process now, explained Ferron Squires, director of Agricultural Production Services for the Church. An employment specialist, Noel Mackenson, organized an office in the Centrale (meetinghouse) in Port-au-Prince, Squires said.

  • Relief supplies were delivered to a rented Haitian warehouse, a facility made available by a local contractor who had done previous construction work for the Church. The contractor also provided trucks and vans to help distribute the essential supplies. Teams of priesthood leaders assisted in the distribution of the supplies.

  • Since the earthquake, the Church has sent 1.4 million pounds of aid to Haiti and the Dominican Republic in addition to teams of doctors who treated patients in Mormon meetinghouses after the quake.

  • And for those who don't want to work online: paper still works, they explained.

"We are looking forward quite a way," Sister Dalton said, speaking of future Church growth across the globe. "We are living in two worlds right now."

(In coming weeks, the Church News will publish a complete report on the new online Personal Progress system.)

  • Members of the board also announced that Personal Progress will soon be available online. By placing the whole Personal Progress book online, including a system to track progress and a secure journal, general leaders are taking the book to where young women live — anywhere in the world.

  • So they share their own experiences as Mormon wives and mothers (there are 10 children among them) who are trying their best to raise good families and have a little fun singing.

"Everybody is so sweet and so kind," Muller said. While the trio is up on stage for their presentations, they each "take moments of our own and express our feelings or experiences that we've had."

  • A devout Morman, Morgan explained he may take his church mission after his freshman season, but could wait until the summer of 2011.

I'll probably do it in about 18 months, he said. You can do it anytime after you turn 19.

Greeley West coach Mark Roggy has consistently labeled Morgan as the epitome of what a high school player should be.

  • The scriptures speak of His arms being open,2 extended,3 stretched out,4 and encircling.5 They are described as mighty6 and holy,7 arms of mercy,8 arms of safety,9 arms of love,10 lengthened out all the day long.11

We have each felt to some extent these spiritual arms around us. We have felt His forgiveness, His love and comfort. The Lord has said, I am he [who] comforteth you.12

  • In the months since that experience, I have thought of the Lords invitation to come unto Him and to spiritually be wrapped in His arms. He said, Behold, [my arms] of mercy [are] extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me

  • This is my fav.mormon video.

  • Jackson said his impact also included involvement as a curriculum writer for the church's seminaries and institutes before joining the BYU faculty, scores of lectures at BYU's Education Week, Know Your Religion classes, firesides and special summertime classes for instructors in the Church Education System.

  • Mormons, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly known as the Mormon Church believe that there is a wonderful plan, the plan of happiness

  • There are many roads to love and rightiousness. All the religions of the world lead to one place. Unfortunately, many misconstrue the true word for their own selfish reasons. Millions of lives needlessly lost because of one belief claiming righteousness over others. Muslims and their Jihad, Christians and their crusades etc etc. I believe like the Native American; they never forced their spiritual belief on others and they all believed in the Great Spirit that guided their lives.

  • God bless the Church of Latter Day saints.

I wish that I had seen this video sixty years ago.

  • God bless the mormons, from a catholic brother!

  • Mormon is a fake religion..... fake prophet, fake heaven, dumb women who still think it's 1958 and lots of uptight men who never amount to anything but being dull and old.

  • @jwwindsor

I think you have Mormonism mixed up with charismatic EVANGELISM!

  • No, you have mormonism mixed up with a valid spiritual reason. mormonism is nothing but bigots and racists..

  • @jwwindsor

you are confusing Mormons and their high black population with the uneducated ANTImormons!

you are NOT very smart are you?

  • You are very boring.

  • @jwwindsor

I am sorry you feel the need to be entertained. I guess that is why EVANGELICALS have rock concerts and call it church.

  • You are still boring.

  • @jwwindsor

I am sorry you want the gospel to entertain you. Sorry, NO rock concerts during LDS religious services.

  • You are so boring. No wonder nobody likes you or your stupid church.

  • @jwwindsor

now you are concerned about popularity? You are deep!

  • You sound Jewish. That is, to say read just the Old Testament and reject the New Testament. And um... you really need to do better than that. There are 36 books quoted and referenced in the Bible that are lost. Thus there must be additional scripture than just the Bible.

For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Matthew 7:1-5).

  • I made a lot of mistakes in my life...mistakes that were not so easy to forget. I'm grateful for the sacrifice of my Saviour Jesus Christ because now I can be at peace knowing that if I turn to him, he will clean all my sins. Repentance is an important word for me, because I've seen what it can do for people. I know what it did for me...and I couldn't be more thankful to have gained this testimony to bear.

  • The bible is also refered to as the stick of Judah as quoted in Ezekiel. Then what is the stick of Joseph that is written well this prophecy is the coming forth of the book of mormon another testament of Jesus Christ not a replacement. Remember the Lord said in the NT other sheep i have which are not of this fold them also i must bring and shall hear my voice. These are a remnant of the tribe of Joseph and the book of mormon is their witness ofthe divinity and purpose of the saviour Jesus Christ

  • WE believe the God of the bible is the God of the book mormon, didn't you know? We also believe in Christ as being the only begotten of the father.

I wonder, who are false apostles, deceitful workeers in these verses? It seems to me that they are those who glorifies God with their mouth but not with their actions.

    God bless! ^^
