@RamiRiefert It is (was) called a G-Rack. it was made to flatten out the top of a Blue & White PowerMac G3 and all PowerMac G4's so you could stack drives, etc., on top of it. It also has slots for CD jewel cases. I have two.

The web site lowendmac dot com runs a mailing list for people who want to buy, sell and swap Macs and related items. I actually bought it for $55 but the fan died and it cost me $15 to replace it.

True. But the 1GHz processor they offer goes for $175 plus shipping. I saved over $100 on that price. I've had a lot of good luck with the stuff I've bought through the mailing list. My plan was to build up that G4 for as little as possible. I bought the machine itself for $120, built it up with RAM and hard drives I wasn't getting real use from, and other than the USB 2.0/FW card I put in it, the processor was the only upgrade I got for it that can't be re-used elsewhere in my collection.

Loose connection? How anti-climatic! Lol. I like how you got your computer working as an alarm clock. I was going to recommend the apple pro speakers since they are powered by that apple speaker mini-port they used to have in all their computers, but I don't think the AGP model has one.

Actually, there was some goings-on that I didn't show. Ran out of time. The optical drive harness went in a bit crooked, and that made the connector for the USB/Firewire passthrough mis-connect. And yeah, no Pro Speaker port on this beast. Good idea though. Thanks for looking in...

It's AGP. Hard to tell in the video, but at about 7:25 you can sort of see the slot the card sits in...

Weak power supply in the thing. While I can fit 4 hard drive inside it, I can't power them all. There may be more upgrades ahead....

eMachine is a PC manufacturer. My step-father needed a PC for a project a while back and bought the thing (Don't worry, he also has a Powerbook and a G4 iMac). Space was tight in his office and he replaced the CRT with an LCD display and gave me the CRT. I guess that was another "upgrade rolldown"...
