Go watch Les Stroud, he's more real than this guy. Though much props to Bear, this show isn't about being fake or real it's teaching survival techniques. I can honestly say that after watching almost every episode I have a higher (if only slightly) chance of survival than someone who has not and in that this show has accomplished what it set out to do. Plus I get to see him eat maggots, always a plus.

How can you NOT tell its fake? Sure he's out there, but the shots are all staged. Bear Grylls is such a drama queen. No, I have not been through SAS indoc, but I met people who have when I went on an international exchange training in the UK with the USNSCC and US Navy. I personally know 2 Navy SEALs, 2 Recon Marines, and 3 Army Rangers, and they all say these shows are full of shit. I got my survival gear and education from them, and got trained by the Recon Marines on a SERE training.
