My mom's a single parent too. My parents divorced when I was 3 and after that, we were living on food stamps.

There's a huge chance that there is something mentally wrong with him. My father developed bipolar disorder (which I got from him) and he became abusive, he invaded my body and cheated on my mom. Just as my mom was getting a restraining order, he was out the door.

Just stay strong and don't let his faults bring you down.
