  • This song reminds me of my buddy, Jake Ball. His dad used to drive us to Salton Sea in the late 70's in his Datsun truck and we drank C&C cola all the way there. those were some of the best of times. Thank you Victor Ball! you are greatly missed by this very appreciative man and thank you for always making me feel welcome in your home! I practically lived there. I miss the whole Ball Family. And Norma Ball Too! She was my second Mom.

R.I.P. Victor and Norma Ball from Baldwin Park, California

  • When a bit tired as a kid on way back from Skegness to normality, this comes on in the car (courtesy of my mum) and reminds me of life in the grown up world again. Was yet to live in the grown up world then but got a feel and have known it since...

  • @heyvenus123

thank god i'm not he only one who thinks to get out of skegness is to return to normality :)

spent hours listening to kenny, the eagles, and chris de burgh as a kid courtesy of my mum.

  • @paintedpilgrim Yes what a massive bundle of fun that place was, nice to be aware of a fellow sufferer ;-) Had these tunes ingrained also, had Roy Orbison and Gene Pitney thrown in at times too...

  • hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • 5this guy is just the greatest the world can ever have

  • Many memories of my childhood and hanging with my mom, while she was raising me by herself...love ya mom

  • what song!m touched,

  • Just a little tip: Don't play this song if you can't stop coughing and your sound doesn't get that loud...

  • Speaking from experience, let Lucille fuck off, get on with your life, and believe me things do only get better.

  • also i have some very sad and emotional memories with this song. my one and only friend died in an accident as we listened to this song on the road...now decide how harmfull this song for me is.

  • u canny beat him best country singer eva

  • Lucille was his mothers name....Kenny the son of a Nurse and a Carpenter...

  • I love his voice and this song always makes me think of my Auntie Katie.I love you so very much!My Prayers with you & the kids!RIP Auntie!

    lots of love,

    Odelia!

  • "You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel."

  • great song i bin there

  • I love song!!!!!!!!!

  • Those annoying and ugly boxes of lyrical text are lame and ruin the video. Why bother inserting a stupid looking box like that into the video into a video? It's not as though the lyrics to this song are difficult to understand or obscure. Also, a good portion of the population has heard this tune many times. No need for a Cliff Notes version of the video. So lame...

  • @ritter89 You can turn them off by pressing the red speech bubble above the watch counter.

  • I had one to many beers many of times singing this song with friends in way to many bars back in the 70's. Thank You Lord for seening that I returned home safe, but most of all everyone around me.

  • I love this song but I really wish whoever put it up could have gotten the lyrics right. If you don't know the words don't try to caption it.

  • kenny rogers is really good at telling stories in his songs :)

  • wonderful!!

  • I love this song !! <3 how many 13 year olds have kenny rogers on their phone, eh ?

  • @whenlionsfly I do lol

  • "Hi I'm Kenny Rogers..."

  • Great Song!

    Great Singer!

    Thanks for posting!

  • LOVE HIM

  • I'm not embarassed to say this since it is documented in court..but I repeatedly sexually molested my nephew Brucie..after my wife left me, I'd get him to dress up like a girl and one of the things we did, was slow dance to Kenny Rogers songs..I have very good memories of this..my nephew Brucie is going through HRT and has decided to become a woman...one day he'll be slow dancing to Kenny Rogers songs with his husband :)

  • @farmerpetey if i ever need to poison my arrows ill dip them in your thoughts....

  • @DhaGeNaDha-- The wording is ( You picked a fine time to leave me Luccile, FOUR hungry children, crops in the field.......)

  • Can't hear this song without saying "You bitch, you slut, you whore"

  • The first time I heard this I thought he said "You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel!"

  • @HoboGus Does the name of the song not give it away? lucille - loose wheel!

  • This really reminds me of my childhood years..my mum would listen to this as she did her laundry..how i miss those days..oh god

  • @zambonie86 dude, we must be the same age. my mom loved this stuff. it was on all the time.

  • @zambonie86: Welcome to the the club, hon. Kenny ogers, Jimmy Cash, Don Williams, Jim Reeves..my mom listened to all of them, if she wasn't on another Abba trip again. And this one here is my all-time fav by Kenny Rogers; I often sing it at Karaoke, too.

  • @zambonie86 Those sensations are what makes life such a unique, special thing. Even though we miss those days, we can make new ones that one day later in life, God willing, we look back again and say "how I miss those days" Take care Zambo!

  • the woman's a whore....so what's the issue? Leave, regroup and learn....and take care of the whore's children....after all.."the mountain of a man" made the mistake in the first place"...so shut up and deal with it.....Lucille will die of Syph or something...she's a drain the human race anyway

  • @DhaGeNaDha No, it's 400 hundred children and a croc in the field

  • @gothicloveful lolol!
