  • Audrey Meadows was so famous among the cast & crew for rarely screwing up her own lines, as well as learning other's that they called her "The Rock".

Well, here she screws up and gets so lost, but then gets herself back on track. She was awesome.

  • I HATE the way Ralph always yelled @ Alice, always telling her what to do/giving orders!!!! He had NO right to treat her that way. But some episodes he was really sweet to her.

  • i feel so bad for alice...having to put up with ralph

  • I LOVE when Ed starts hitting the balloon!!! Too LMAO!!!

  • @kris39100 I was lauging my ass off because of that!!! LOL!!!!

  • Boy, Ralph is SO focused on winning that tv set!! I just don't like it when he threatens to belt Alice, telling her to shut up!! I know, it's only tv, but still!!)

  • This is what I don't understand: Ralph and Ed win the TV in this episode and later on in another episode, Alice complains of not having a TV set!! The title was TV or Not TV.

  • @kris39100 The series has many inconsistencies- that's just one!

  • @louspintoo that's because it isn't meant to be consistent. Every episode of the honeymooners is basically a stand alone episode and is not necessarily canon with other eps.

  • @drlove1972 You make a good point and are absolutely correct. I wasn't even thinking of it that way. By the way, remember Jackie's rule when someone screws up : "ad lib in character." And of course, these poor actors were practically forbidden to rehearse because the Great One could read a script once, walk out on stage drunk and kill every time. His comedy was completely instinctive. That didn't mean the others could do that! And yet they still managed to work within this situation.

  • @kris39100 pretty much every episode of the honeymooners is a stand alone episode and is not really canon with other episodes

  • When Alice loses it at 6:35 it's just about the funniest thing ever.

  • @strawberries404.. and if the President was on your night was shot

  • I agree with Mr.Whatevaman...every time I see this piece I can't help but crack up at it because of Alice's apparently messed up line. at the (6:26) mark ..."now, if who ever hits the balloon is free at the time --- then --- the others of us, like you and me --- YOU GOT ME SO UPSET RALPH FROM YELLING AT ME I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M --- " followed up by Ralph's blowing up --- the chemistry is perfect!!

  • 6:28 - Alice messed up her lines, but she recovered nicely and Ralph followed up perfectly!! LOL!!!

  • @MrWhatevaman -- I agree with you 100%...every time I see this piece I can't help but crack up at it because of Alice's apparently messed up line. at the (6:26) mark ..."now, if who ever hits the balloon is free at the time --- then --- the others of us, like you and me --- YOU GOT ME SO UPSET RALPH FROM YELLING AT ME I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M --- " followed up by Ralph's blowing up --- the chemistry is perfect!!

  • Damn they smoke too much on this show. They really had no idea how unhealthy it was back then.

  • @Digitalbumpin

Vital to set up the gag (balloon break).

  • Hilarious blooper in this. They are so damn good at covering it up.

  • alice was a bitch in this one.

  • @bobbystj

I do not think that Alice was a bitch. I think that she was just tired and frustrated with the situation.

  • I don't know why Ralph is working so hard for a tv, anyway. Back then they only had like 4 channels. Even with the hundreds of channels we have now, there still isn't anything to watch on tv.

  • @strawberries404 very true!!!

  • @strawberries404 He could have watched the Jackie Gleason Show.

  • @strawberries404 lol in New York then we had 7 channels then, but yes many people had 4 and 3 channels, for example Washington DC (still did in 1958 according to JJ Radio Logs of 1958 (online site) -- some of them carrying two or three different networks. And I read along way that in 1954 almost half of the country had televisions, and still at that time many cities didn't have television signals.

And I agree...100s of channels and nothing to watch !!
